This is really tough to respond to Sunfire. There are so many that I like and admire. My choices aren't always by their acting, has to do with their looks too. Like Tommy Lee Jones. I love his looks and Michael Douglas, love his love scenes.

I really like Kathy Bates and Meryl S., Jodi F, Richard G,John T, and I could go on and on. I like a lot of different ones for many different reasons.

Acting it so different today, in the older times and actor just usually played himself in any movie, like Jimmy S, or John W. Now I think an actor or actress has to really play a part, a character outside of their real selves.

Al Pacino!

He is the greatest actor I have ever seen. I'd love to see him on stage, but he doesn't seem to do theatre outside the States.

He has been in so many powerful movies - The Godfather Trilogy, Scarface, Serpico, The Devil's Advocate, etc.

Just my humble opinion.

Wow, these days there´s so many out there for so many different genres...but in my book there´s only a truly talented chosen few. I´d have to say Al Pacino, Jack Nicholson, John Malkovich and Mel Gibson are my favorite male actors. As for actresses, it would have to be Jodie Foster, Meg Ryan, Glenn Close and Julia Roberts.

If you really like Al Pacino, I wonder if you've seen Looking For Richard? I think that's my favorite Al Pacino "movie", after The Godfather and "Frankie and Johnny".

I really like Al, of course. And Robert DeNiro, William Hurt, Jack Nicholson, and for some strange reason, Matthew Broderick.

Female favorites are Meg Ryan (but only in comic roles), Glenn Close (especially in The Big Chill), and Mary Tyler Moore.

I've seen all Al's films except for the two just released in the US (The Insider and Any Given Sunday)

I loved Looking for Richard too. You really got a feel for Pacino's intensity and quirkiness.

I haven't had a chance to see either of the new Al Pacino movies yet either. Any idea what kind of reviews they got? All this Al Pacino talk may inspire me to go and rent one of his movies tonight!

From what I've heard over here in Aus, The Insider is more of a Russell Crowe movie, but Al's performance is excellent.

Any Given Sunday sounds like it's great (as long as you can stand the football!!)

I agree btw - Looking for Richard really does show Al's intensity - real life as well as acted. You really get a sense of his love for Shakespeare, and his desire to project that love to the audience!

Harrison Ford_ Hasve to love his choice of roles, not a bad one in the bunch.

Zazu Pitts - Comedy or Drama, and the most prolific if you count her films. (I also happen to have been distantly related to her).

Anthony Hopkins and Meryl Strep

Putting in my two cents.....I just love watching Kevin Costner....and Denzel Washington. As for women....Meg Ryan, hands down, Sandra Bullock...close second !

Love Al Pacino. Hate football. Was absolutely mesmerized by Any Given Sunday, which made my top 10 of last year (and was, IMO, Oliver Stone's best since The Hand). Favorite actress: Dawn French, who does British TV.

I don't really care much about particular actors, but Julia Roberts has been in such nice roles lately and I love how Drew Barrymore has cleaned up her act. I think Will Smith can do it all, and Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman are two class acts. also.....too many to name.
