My favorite line comes from the film 'No Retreat, No Surrender' The best mate of the star of the film (Both are about 19 years old) says.... 'Ahh Young Love....makes me feel 20 years younger' Also...I like the line from the film 'Matrix' when Neo says... 'I know Kung-Fu'...with the reply 'Show Me' ------------------ Deciphering the World as I see it !! [This message has been edited by Sypher (edited 01-05-2000).]

I love Clint Eastwood's line, "Come on.Make my day." I also love the last line in the movie "Some Like It Hot,"---- Joe E. Brown says, "Oh well, nobody's perfect."

Mine has to be, "I'm in the dark here", from the movie "Sent of a Woman". I walk around the house saying that all the time. ------------------ Sandalwood's Cosmic Creations: Working with the magic of love....

I think one of my favorite quotes is "I'd like to present this laurel, and hardy handshake to the new....n****r".

Partsdudes line is from "Blazing Saddles" Along with "It's Twoo, It's Twoo" and "Mungo Not Gay, Mungo Straight",and "What in the wide wide world of sports is a goin' on here?" and: "So what do you do around here for fun, Kid?" "Oh, Play checkers,...screw." "Eh, let's play checkers, Kid." One of my favorites Quotes is from The Princess Bride: "Inconceivable!" "You keep useing that word...I do not think it means what you think it means" ------------------ "What is life, without a little Spice".

My favorite quote is from "Hope Floats" It is (and I hope I get this right), "Childhood is not the best time of your life, It is what you spend the rest of your life getting over." Oh and this one just jumped into my brain, from "Jerry Maguire", "You had me at 'Hello'. Sappy Ain't I?

So many favorite lines: From The Breakfast Club - "Excuse me Dick, I mean Rich." and "Can you describe the ruckus, Sir?" From While You Were Sleeping - "I like black underwears." From Shawshank Redemption - "I'll bet on the outside you had one of those jiggly hoola gals on your desk." From Lion King - "I always thought they were big balls of gas." From When Harry Met Sally - "I don't happen to find him attractive but you don't have a thing about chins." and "There's a man looking at you from Personal Growth." and "Waiter, there is too much pepper on my papikash (sp?) but I would be proud to partake of your pecan pie." and "You made a woman meow?" and "I knew about him the way you know about a good melon." And oh, so many more from When Harry Met Sally. From Big - "Do you have to play with everything?" From Adam's Rib - "This is a dress I'm wearing." (which is nothing funny without the set-up) From one of the Die Hard movies - "Glass?! Who gives a shit about glass?!" From the Kentucky Fried Movie - "Show me your nuts!" From History of the World, Part One - "It's good to be the king." and "Mother! Missus Soops!" and "I'm just going to stand here and walk around in circles." and "No, no, no, YES, no, no, YES!" and, of course, "The Inquisition, what a show! The Inquisition, here we go! I know you're wishin' that we'd go awaaay, but the Inquisition's here and it's here to staaaaay!" From Monty Python's The Meaning of Life - "Get that, would you dear?" (again, not funny without the set up) and "...and perhaps a hose." and "There's a Mr. Death here. Something about the reaping." Shall I go on? I can. By the way, I also love that line from The Princess Bride: "You keep a-using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means." Also, "Have fun storming the castle!" ------------------ ...enjoying the journey...

You know the title of the film "Hope floats" reminded me about a line from a book (sorry, I know this is about films). From the book The Hotel New Hampshire: "SORROW FLOATS" (Sorrow being a stuffed dog). I just loved it.

Some of my favorite quotes are: From "Gone With The Wind": "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn." From "Notting Hill": "I'm just a girl standing in front of a boy asking him to love me" From "Robinhood Prince of Thieves": "I'd do anything for you;I'd die for you"

the "Outlaw Josie Wales" Eastwood goes into the sallon and the bounty hunter gets scared and leaves. Later he comes back and says, "a man's got to make a living" and Eastwood retorts; "dying aint much of a living boy"

I'll probably think of hundreds of them later, but all I can think of now is one I use alot, from the good old Wizard of Oz: "Rats, trapped like mice". Of course "if I only had a brain" has come in handy a few times also

All the lines from the Matrix are wonderful: "The Matrix is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth." "There is no spoon." "Dodge this." From Monty Python (Holy Grail): "Can you tell me where I can find a shrubbery?" "An English sparrow, or an African one?" those are paraphrased, they may be wrong.

Here's a few I like. Apocalypse Now Captain Willard: "Never get out of the boat. Absolutely goddamn right. Unless you're going all the way. Kurtz got out of the boat. He split from the whole program"
Blade Runner Roy Batty: "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C beams glittering in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All these moments will be lost in time, like tears ....in rain. Time... to die.
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid Butch: "Wait a minute. You didn't see LaForce out there did you"? Sundance: "LaForce? No, why"? Butch: "Thank God for that! For a moment there, I thought we were in trouble"!
The Manchurian Candidate Raymond Shaw: "They can make me do anything, Ben, can't they? Anything." Bennett Marco: "We'll see kid. We'll see what they can do and we'll see what we can do. So the red queen is our baby. Well, take a look at this kid...(Marco fans the cards and keeps holding them up) fifty two of them. Take a good look, and while you're looking, listen. This is me, Marco talking. Fifty two red queens and me are telling you...You know what we're telling you? It's over! The links, the beautifully conditioned links are smashed. They are smashed as of now because we say so...because we say they are to be smashed. We're busting up the joint, we're tearing out all the wires. Were busting it up so good all the queen's horses and all the queen's men will never put old Raymond together again. You don't work anymore! That's an order. Anybody invites you to a game of solitaire, you tell 'em, sorry buster, the ball game's over".
It's a Wonderful Life Zuzu Bailey: "Daddy, teacher says every time a bell rings an angel gets it's wings".

Ever see "A Matter of Life and Death", Michael Powell and Emerich Pressburger's ("The Archers") 1946 fantasy comedy-drama? It's best known in the US as "Stairway to Heaven". In it , Marius Goring as a Heavenly messenger comes to get David Niven after he escapes a crashed plane. Reaching Earth, he says, "One is starved for Technicolor up there".(The scenes in Heaven are shot in B&W.) tjoeb};>

Well, this is the first time I've looked at this thread, and already I have kindred spirits here. Fritzino, my kids have not even seen the movie, but they know the line and set-up to "Put the candle back." Branwen, I love "Build it and they will come." What a great feel-good movie! LindaK29, I know it's obvious, but you left out my favorite from When Harry Met Sally - "I'll have what she's having." And tim10001, the other one I love from Butch and Sundance: "I can't swim." "Ah, shoot, the fall 'll kill ya!" ------------------ Teenage children are the reason some animals eat their young.
