Don't give me that much credit, vendome! You gave a wealth of information in your question.

Rats!! Now I have to ask one? I much prefer answering them, rather than coming up with them, but I'll give it a try.

In 1955, the prestigious Actor's Studio in New York City auditioned approximately 2,000 actors for placement in their classes. Only two people were accepted. One was Martin Landau. Who was the other one?

Your choices are good, but they're not the right answer. I was just coming back to add some more clues to my question, since I was worried it might be a bit too obscure.

The actor in question starred in a popular T.V. western in the late 50's. One of his earliest film roles was in a Sci-Fi/Horror movie which although kind of silly, became sort of a classic, and was remade during the late 80's.

Matt Dillon was a 'method' man? James Arness studied with the likes of Marlon?

Wrong actor and movie.

This actor also studied martial arts under Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris.

He died of cancer in 1980.

I bet if he had said Butterfly McQueen, she'd have said O right!! Nobody likes me. Everbody's against me. James Arness...now that was an answer! Steve McQueen. right.

Aaaawwww...poor Vendome! I thought that James Arness was a wonderfully brilliant answer, just magnificent, and a total reflection of the vasts amount of information you must have stored-away in that incredible brain of yours.

Now could you please stop whining, get your head out of your a**, and think up another question?! I want a crack at one of 'em! I can just see Annie sitting at her computer waiting to pounce...

Speaking of Steve McQueen (Wasn't he in Gunsmoke and The Thing?), in the movie The Great Escape he sets a trap by stretching wire between two posts across the road way.

Who does he end up snareing with this trap?

Hi, everybody!! Where's that next question, Co?

Well, I would say the answer is possibly i)the Nazis chasing him or ii) himself (at the end of the movie, or do I remember wrong? It's been years!)

Ruma..good guesses. Though you are remembering parts that happen later in the film than the one I discribed you actually got the answer technically correct! (I'll explain) In the scene mentioned McQueen has laid a trap for an approching motorcycalist by stretching a wire across the roadway. The cycleist is indeed a Nazi, though not in pursuit of McQueen. (That happens later). In making this film McQueen, an expert rider himself, performed much of his stunt riding himself (though not the "Big Jump" that landed him in the wall of barbed wire you were refering to in your -ii- guess. The Film Compny wouldn't let him risk THAT jump.)
In this scene McQueen is dressed as the Nazi rider and lays the bike down as he approches the "trip wire", thereby "catching himself"!
You GO, Ruma!

Thanks, Cohalen, it's gratifying to know that my memory still serves me sort-of-right!

This is one of my all-time favourite quotes from a classic movie, starring a very famous actor-director.Name the actor, character and/or movie any will do, though all will be great!)
"Italy for 30 years under the Borgias had warfare, terror, murder, bloodshed- they produced Michaelangelo, Leonardo Da Vinci and the Renaissance.Switzerland had brotherly love, 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did they produce? The cuckoo clock!"

Hi Ruma! This is such a great quote!!! I know who said it, his character's name, and the movie, but I'm giving everyone else a chance, because contrary to popular belief, I really am a nice person and I don't want to hog all the answers. If no one else gets it in a day or two, I'll ring in.
