It appears that Osama is now trying to appeal to the American people to agree to a truce. Any American that would fall for this nonsense is not very bright. We don't bargain with terrorists.

It is clear that he is trying to influence our elections. I hope Osama keeps campaigning for the other side. It will guarantee that they will never win the White House.

It was mentioned on the news last night that Osama admitted that the planning of 9/11 tooks years to complete. Which just goes to show you that it was all planned out during the Clinton Administration; a fact which they have trouble admitting. When I heard that, I wondered what they would say now. This mornings news said that we should be aware of future attacks but we shouldn't get obsessed over it. I'm wondering how it's known that we don't have to worry too much; that "no known attack is planned" as it was phrased on one Los Angeles station. I'm sure the last Administration felt the same way. How can we know for sure, especially since Osama has made the threat?

"no known attack is planned" means exactly what it says - the US government has no knowledge of an attack in the planning stages. Of course there could be one that is being planned, but if there is, the government doesn't know about it.

Why should you not fear? Because then you'd live your entire life in fear for something that may or may not occur. If you really are scared, then help whatever government you are a citizen of fight terrorists either by getting a job as an analyst, a police officer or even by being an ordinary citizen who makes a phone call to the right agency when something just doesn't feel right.

Hopefully we will get some piece of information that may warn us. My guess is that we won't. I am in New York City 5 days a week. I ride public transit. I don't dwell on the danger. Sooner or later something will probably happen in the city. I pray that it does not, but I will not be shocked if it does.

Beth, I guess it was a rhetorical question. Of course we shouldn't live our lifes in fear. If we do, then the terrorists have won. But yes, we should be vigilant and turn in any suspicious activity. My point was we weren't aware of a known attack plan before and look what happened.
