It is looking increasingly unlikely that our dear Gatsby, aka Dave, will be coming back to Funtrivia. Perhaps some of you would care to send your good wishes to him by posting in this thread, then once it seems complete one of us will print it out and send it to him. Of course should he return to us he can read it for himself.

You are sorely missed by us here, and in particular by me. I always looked forward to reading your posts.

You have been an inspiration to me, helping me to overcome my problems by sheer example. My admiration for you is great, I think you are the most incredible person.

Just in case you do not return to us, may I also thank you for all the help that you have given us by way of moderating - if you come back the door is open and you can have your jobs back!

I'm not quite sure what caused your separation from the internet, but it was obviously a pressing reason. I have been hoping to see you again, and when I saw this thread my heart took a jump as I thought you were being welcomed back.

As you were one of the many people in the chatroom I got to know you a lot better than just around the boards, and it was easy to stay up till 4am my time as there was always so much to talk about.

I'm sure you're missing us as much as we are you, when I first came here to learn more trivia and get answers to my questions it didn't occur to me I'd be becoming part of a family where I still came in daily six years later, and you're a major figure in it, keeping new threads going all over, livening up old and generally looking after everyone and sharing, which shows many others they can as well.

Anyway, I've said more than enough (as I always do... ) and probably repeated things I've said before (ditto) but I can only say it how it is. I'd be very pleased if something managed to get you back in here, and Sue's appeal is a very good idea as one of those somethings.

I hope everything's OK for you, and we may see you sooner or later.

Wish it was closer, though - it's disappointing afresh every day to log in here and find you are still not part of the gang. You may not be around here much, but you are in my thoughts regularly - darned if you haven't gone and gotten under my skin like an itch that's just out of reach Snail mail's better than nothing, but only just.

Hope you are keeping healthy and that your situation improves rapidly so that you can once again keep us on our toes and keep the gang grinning.
