Just an odd Kiwi checking in so you know you that you Aussies are not alone here.

Just waiting for Queensland to carry on from game 2. Melbourne will be painted maroon.

As for the Warriors, finally stringing together some wins (a pity they cannot play the Tigers each week ) but too litle, too late.

Ugh. Flogged. It's a stupid game anyway!

State of Origin Wednesday. Hopefully that will be a good game!

Impressive display by NSW man of the match--the video referee.

At least he kept it interesting but a good win by the Maroons. So much for them being the "worst Queensland side ever".

State of Origin trophy back where it belongs.

Oh silly me, forgot about this thread .... oops. *damn you Howie for bringing it up!*

Well, yes the video ref must have had a few dollars on NSW but have to agree with the commentators about going back so far to judge a try - the strip and the 'knock on' were let go so thought okay by the ref and if there had been a tackle between there and the try neither would have been looked at.

Talk of more major game heading there. Still don't know why we're sucking up to Melbourne so much.

(why oh why aren't we plotting world domination here??) (Sue and Ren are still parsiminous bovines)

Yay Tigers for beating Cronulla

Yay Andrew Johns for breaking all time scoring record

Boo Andrew Johns for not accepting the Parramatta 'trophy'.

Adrian Morley was sent off for kneeing a Bulldogs player. Now I know it's something that lots of people want to do but I don't think we'll be seeing him play again in Australia. He just has these little brain dead moments doesn't he? Easts were held scoreless for the first time since 1994.

Anyone see the Chaser's War on Everything and the segment they did outside the Bulldogs game last weekend and the bloke selling Bulldogs merchandise? Laugh? I nearly cried. But the fun police didn't think so. *sigh*

I know it's sort of off-topic, (but let's face it, I'm talking to myself anyway so I can go where-ever the fancy takes me ) with Wendell Sailor being banned for two years by the Union ... hypothetically can he move back to League? I would hope no League club would touch him with a ten foot pole but I wonder if they could if they wanted.

Well, the Warriors managed to get 2 competition points but only after a mighty struggle.

Another unhappy chappy here. My Roosters are now almost qualified to be feather-dusters. I am just glad that Souths are still in the comp..

Willie Mason is going to America to play gridiron. Can we cancel his passport while he is away?

Havne't been near the TV for a couple days and hadn't heard. Although it irks me he's probably going to be getting bazzilions out of it I won't be sorry to see him leave the NRL.

Fuifui Moimoi (is that the BEST name in rugby league?? ) was sent off tonight for Parra for a pretty nasty headhigh. Don't think we'll be seeing him for a while.

And Morley copped 6 weeks for the knee last week - won't play agin in the NRL.

Tigers Broncos tomorrow. Ugh. If we get any more injuries then we'll be looking for players form the Glebe under 12's. *sigh*

Teehee.

Some will call that an upset but I'm not upset at all.

Oh, look who is above the Tigers on the ladder!

Roosters 21 8 2 0 13 470 532 20
Tigers 22 9 1 0 13 422 501 20
Rabbitohs 21 3 2 0 18 383 648 10

lol I know I know - thank god for the Rabbitohs!

Andrew Johns has been charged for contrary conduct and will miss 3 games (4 if he fights and loses). Seems overly harsh really.

It may be harsh, but the message needs to be reinforced that umpires are NOT to be abused.

He copped 3 weeks, but Newcastle wants to appeal. I doubt that it will be changed.

True enough but three weeks at this time of the season? You can't tell me that a ref or other official has never been sworn at before. THe bloke deserved it after missing that knock on! The only player I can think of who's ever been suspended for a similar thing, certainly at this time of the season, is Steve Roach who patted the ref on the top of head in the finals in 1989 and, copped one week and he missed the grandfinal for it - for actually touching the ref.

*the cynic in me talking now* A couple years ago I reckon that Johns was such the golden boy that he could have mrdered a ref on the field and got away with it. Wonder what changed. Hmmm.

Newcastles odds are 11/1 to win the grandfinal with Andrew Johns and 41/1 without him.

The decision that caused the blowup was a terrible one, but it does not excuse his actions. He is supposed to be one of the role models in the game, and role models do NOT carry on like he did.

He did something similar a couple of weeks ago, and got away with it- perhaps that is why he got so long a rest.

His manager has hinted that he will play in UK next season- that seems a bit extreme to me- talk about a dummy-spit!

I wonder what Blocker would get if he did the same thing these days? I reckon he would get 10 weeks!

lol - Blocker is lucky he played when he did ... any later we'd be talking about him like we do Hoppa (not specifically the finger just the aggro). ewwww.

JOhns got the chage downgraded and will only miss two games. Sure officials shouldn't be abused in any way, I just thought the initial charge went overboard.

SMH thingy

This was pretty interesting - how the table would look if the "close" games had be reversed. Tigers in forth which is where we were last year when we could actually win those tight decisions.

I seem to have a problem with my short term memory! I can't remember anything that's happened at all this year! My last memory is in OCtober last year and the Tigers were premiers.

Strange. Very strange.
