Easts sacked Ricky Stuart as coach earlier this week. SHort memories in football. I love it when the chairman was saying it was a mutual decision and from Stuart's point of view was because he PERCEIVED he didn't have the full support of the board. He probably has hand shaped bruise marks on his back from all the pushing.

It's over it's over it's OVEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. And what a good note to go out on for the Tigers. And poor Souths - Taylor will be their coach next year and there seems to be a few good signings so maybe, just maybe, they will do a turn around.

Cameron Smith from the Storm was the Dally M winner last night too.

It's not over for the rest of us with teams in the Finals Series tho', the Dragons need to kick Bronco butt this weekend, then it's onwards and upwards to be PREMIERS 2006!!!!

hehe - wanna rub some salt into my wound as well, Engadine?

Last year when I changed my signature I thought I'd keep it until we're no longer premiers. So come the long weekend in October it will change. *sob*

I wait with bated breath to see Copago's new signature will be...

My picks for the GF are still Melbourne V Canterbury, with the trophy heading south again.

Where will Ricky end up? I have heard him linked with the Sharks. And who will coach the Chooks?

lol

As for Ricky - will he end up anywhere? I'm not entirely sure that he will end up at the Sharks and it seems to be his only option unless he takes a step down and gets assistant coach somewhere. Dunno.

I just heard a whisper that 'Laughing Boy' Wayne Bennett has been approached to be Rooster's coach! He still has three years to run on his Brisbane job, but apparently he is allowed to break that contract without penalty.

And I just heard that Tigers players are under investigation after a woman has gone to police saying she's been raped.

*sigh*

Wayne at Roosters. Hmmmm. Wouldn't have thought he'd do it but you never know.

Sorry Copago, cheap shot but . . . you could try something like "Once Were Premiers" (mmm, no, that has 'Warrior' overtones . . .)

On a serious note tho', this tooing and froing of the Coaches before the Season actually ends should stop, it's like the players 'jumping ship' too, can all of this not be done post the official Season?

And, as for the purported sexual assault, I don't think this kind of reporting will ever end, put a whole bunch of Footballers in a social setting with alcohol and something's gotta give . . . serious or not, do we really need to know about such allegations until they are either proved or disproved? It isn't good for the sport surely?

And as for Wayne Bennett . . . on 13 August former Bronco's Centre Tony Currie stated in the Courier Mail that Bennett had reached his 'use-by date' and that he was being 'out-coached' . . . do the Roosters really want/need an 'over-the-hill' Coach?

UP THE MIGHTY DRAGONS!!

oh man, EXACTLY!!! Mud sticks.

A good few years ago Balmain played a trial match in Orange and there was an after game function in a local pub. The family and I went to the game then to the pub to meet the players and what not. I'm human and female and can appreciate the likes of Mark O'Neill who is, I swear, the most gorgeous man on this planet but primarily it's good just to meet these blokes and have a bit of a chat. Now there were quite a few woman there who wouldn't have known the difference between a football and a golf ball and who think that hookers only stand on street corners - they were dressed up to the nines and were all over these blokes looking for a root if they could get one.

I'm not trying to excuse any bad behaviour, if someone is raped then the rapist deserves everything they get but these are young fellas who aren't rocket scientists and suddenly have women being thrown at them. 'Wooohooo' they think, who wouldn't, but they put themselves in such a situation to be set up if things don't go exactly the way the woman thinks. I dunno - some men need to have their balls removed and some women need a brain and everyone needs to think about the consequenses of any action before they take their pants off.

Hmm.. this thread is remarkably quiet!

For the first time in history, there are no New South Wales teams in the decider. Melbourne beat St George comfortably, and Brisbane came from behind to spank the Bulldogs.

I would suggest that no-one ask any favours from Engadine or our esteemed Admin- they are NOT likely to be in a good mood...

hehe to Sue.

Booohooo to George and Engadine. I really wanted the Dragons there.

Hate the fact that there is no Sydney team despite the whole "It's a national competition, this is GREAT". Pig's bum. Like Melbourne and the AFL, I bet they hate it too. And all the inevitable cries of moving the GF if there are two away teams in it - bugger off! I think they should make them sign a waiver before they start that they agreee to GF's being in Sydney (and AFL ones in Melb) always.

This is one of the first years I think that I really don't care who wins - the advantage though is that one of them will lose.

Go see the pre game show and laugh about how bad it is (cause let's face it, why should it be any different) and then go home?
