I decided to ask this after reading about the diet soda exploding in the movie post made in "The Other Sister" topic.

What accidental things have occurred during a movie that "taint" it forever for you? (Only clean things, please!)

For instance, you know that scene in Bridge Over Madison County? Where she's tossing the ashes? Everyone in the theater was bawling at that scene. It was the culmination of a lot of emotion in the movie, and you could hear the sniffing. Unfortunately, it also affected someone allergies. A man in the front began sneezing just as she started letting the ashes go. Lasted that whole scene. At that point, everyone in the audience was looking at each other trying to figure out if the giggles or the tears were going to win out. I now can't watch that scene without laughing - no matter how much I feel like I'm supposed to cry. I just keep remembering what it was like the first time I saw it.

In another movie (I forget which one), a homeless man came in halfway through the show. Now, that's not a problem. The trouble happened when he decided to unfold his metal, outdoor lounging chair in the front row of the theater. Made a horrible racket, and we all sat there wondering what we were supposed to do. It must have taken him 10 minutes to get the chair to the exact spot he wanted it.

Linda, I don't think I have ever had any, but, the homless man and his folding chair sure gave the giggles this morning.

When I went to see Star Wars: Episode 1 I got a drink before the movie started, unfortunatly, it was overfilled and it spilled all over my legs, I had to go in the bathroom and clean myself up before the movie started.
When I went to see Message in a bottle there were two ladies sitting behind my friends and I, through the whole movie they were talking about how boney the actress was. We couldn't help laughing!

I went to see 'The Exorcist' with a friend and just befor the end of the movie, he spilled his drink on his lap. When the movie ended and everyone got up to leave instead of trying to hide it, he pointed to his pants and said "That movie scared the hell out of me." Everyone in the theater cracked up.

jojo- i just laughed my bottem off on that last one!

This isn't a movie but its pretty good. LAst week, I went to a concert of various classical performances, each a different artist, kinda like ashowcase. piano solo, clarinet, ...anyway.....

There was this man doing a guitar solo..he has very good and the whole auditorium was quiet and concentrating on him. sudden ly i heard a not so soft rumble. I couldn't figure out what i heard or if i had heard it at all. But then i heard it again, only louder this time. I couldn't look at the soft roar behind me i know what it was for i had alreaedy noticed the peculiar old couple there. The wife(though until told afterward i thought it was the husband) was snorring and causing a huge scene. The husband kept poking her trying to arous here, but it was to no avail. 10s of people were giggling, but trying extrememly hard not to, cause,of course,it is if the performer ehard it, it would be very unnerving. I literal was in pain form trying not to laugh, but it was impossible not to with everybody around me letting little shakes and giggles off. fianlly, the song ended. I almost ran up the aisle into the waiting area. I fell onto a bench and cried with laughter. Thgen i looked around and notice a couple dozen people doing the same thing that had followed me right out.

sorry i bit long winded but it was a strange phenomenom

Believe it or not, while I was watching "The Birds" on TV, a bird crashed into our Living Room window and knocked himself out.

I was in a film at one time (can't remember what it was now) and I'd just got contact lenses. They were still a bit uncomfortable and so I was fiddling with them, right in the middle of a darkened cinema when one fell out. I got up to go to the ladies thinking "shit that's £30 down the drain, I'll never find it in there in the dark" when I got to the bathroom, looked in the mirror and noticed the lens sitting there resting on my clevage - so my chest had saved the day!

We were screening a horrible movie called "Let's Scare Jessica To Death" at the Student Union, and it was pretty horrible. There was one long sequence where nothing happened, and we paid a ratty guy $1 to scream during a particularly boring sequence. (Jessica is walking near a creek, and NOTHING happens.) He screamed, people freaked out, and the rest of the run of the stupid movie was Sold Out.
