In Europe we have these ads for Renault Megane (an automobile, in case they aren't known in the States).
They are based on the sexy song "Shakin' that [censored]", with pictures of girls doing just that, and I have to wonder why they are telling us that their cars suffer from terrible rear vibration.
Reminds me of another a few years back now, advertising the Renault Fuego by showing pictures of it being driven through rapidly spreading flames in a corn field. As if it wasn't bad enough that every Hollywood picture tells us that the slightest bang will result in your car exploding in flames, why they have to associate their new car both by name and advert with fire is beyond me. How about the ones where the owner of the business comes on camera wearing a funny hat, and says "I've gone CRAZY and I'm bringing down all the prices!" or words to that effect.

Ever see the Orbitz gum commercial with Snoop Dogg? He goes to h-e-double hockey sticks.. and then the gum girl gives him the gum and he goes to heaven?

The next time you see that commercial, look closely at the fine print when Snoop goes to Heaven.. it actually says:
"Chewing Orbitz gum will not get you into heaven."

weird.

Guess they need to protect themselves from lawsuits, in case anybody can "prove" you don't go to heaven from chewing their gum and comes back to sue them... or haunt them...

In the Tide commercial, I really wish that Kelly Ripa had the marker...well, you know.

Does that Geico place really expect to sell insurance . I saw two newer clips (I guess they're "newer") on TV yesterday ~ one with Charo and the other with Little Richard?! Yikes, talk about digging far below the 'A' list. Are those two on any list at all anymore?

Gats, Geico also has one with Burt Bacharach. So...it gets worse.

But I like the Charo one...

My head must be in the gutter or something ~ I saw that Bacharach ad last night and that song he was singing sounded a little -um- dirty! If not dirty then downright peculiar...

I don't know about the rest of you but the stupidest commercial I've ever seen is the one with Taylor Hicks in it. I think it's that Mitsubishi car one.

The commercials had have the catchphrase "Amazing what a simple 'Thank You' can do!".

Also, that commerical for Head On is the most annoying, redundant thing I have ever had the displeasure of seeing.

Any of the new Arby's commercials-especially the one with the misdelivered flowers. Tastless and just plain stupid.

I have really enjoyed reading this thread. It makes me feel good that I don't have a television set (unless you call this stupid computer that I stare at half of the day a TV).

The upside is that I am not subjected to crummy commercials. The downside is I can't answer a lot of the trivia questions about TV, entertainment or music.

I cringe everytime it comes on, but there is an ad promoting Carlton Draught (A brand of beer), where a guy trying to get a job at the brewery does this bewildering dance in a leotard to the flashdance song What A Feeling!.

It is absolutely cringeworthy, but hilarious at the same time!

There's a new string of GEICO insurance commercials. I don't have a problem with any of them except for one. That one would be the episode where Peter Graves, is translating as far as tangerine lip gloss. My two favorites are the ones with the movie narrator guy, and the one with Little Richard. "Mashed potatos, gravy, and cranberry sauce"! Whoooooooo!

I have two that I can't stand.

The first is a Broadway attempt at a W.B. Mason commercial--awful.
The second is the Vehix.com commercials--can the one guy get ANY nerdier?

What about that new Burger King commercial that goes: "I am Man!"? That makes me laugh so hard yet it's the stupidest commercial!
