Here is a fun game I made for my Moms group to play at a meeting we had about movies.

You are a casting director. You have to cast the following movie roles. Here is a synopsis of the movie.

Eleanor and Mason have owned and operated a huge orchard for many years. Mason is now dying and cannot work any longer. They have a grown daughter, Ruth, who works for them. Ruth is recently divorced from Jack. They have two children who Ruth has custody of.
Eleanor hires a new man, Stan, to help run the orchard. In the course of the film Mason passes away, Ruth and Jack have many conflicts, Eleanor has to be strong and carry on, and love blooms between Stan and ????

Please cast the roles and tell who love blooms between. Have fun and play God!

ELEANOR:
MASON:
RUTH:
JACK:
STAN:
CHILD: optional
CHILD: optional

You may explain your choices or let them speak for themselves.

Given the strength and determination that would be required of Eleanor, I would cast Katherine Hepburn in that role. I think she would be a good person to "carry on" after Mason's death.

(Of course, the most obvious choice for Mason, given her as Eleanor, would be Spencer Tracy!)

I know this would mean that the movie would have had to have been filmed years ago, but those are the people that immediately came to my mind when I read the synopsis of the story. I love old movies anyway, so casting the movie back a couple of decades ago appeals to me.

(And, I have to say that this is a great idea, Hungreesman!)

Cohalen!
You just gave me shivers! When we played this at my meeting I cast the following:
Mason-Paul Newman
Eleanor-Joanne Woodward
Ruth-I cannot remember who I cast!!
Jack-Billy Bob Thornton
Stan-Gary Sinise

I had ruth and stan get together. I can't believe I'm drawing a total blank about who I cast as Ruth.

Amazing. We obviously like alot of the same actors.
