Fine, I'll be the bad guy. I hated this movie enough that I complain about it every chance I get. Why? Simple. I'm a big fan of Pacino...and horror flicks. This wasn't a good example of either.
Pacino can play the hell (no pun intended) out of a no bulls**t character. He's really in his element when he's doing what-you-see-is-what-you-get, but his character for most of Advocate is pretty weak. Mistruths and flaky underhandedness just doesn't work for him. He's not weasely enough for it to be believable.
On the horror side, someone should have made up their mind way before the last few scenes if this was going to be an FX horror film, an assumed-scary film, or a tense drama. Most of the show played out like The Firm, then it starts sliding into a thriller with no real visual tension, and then at the end they decide it'll be Fangora?
Sorry, but I just wasn't buying it. They really had me in the beginning, and even when the implied tension started building, but then to go all the way to MonsterVision...wel, they lost me in the end.
