Is this a good movie? I have taken it out of the video store But I am not bothered watching it. It is supposed to be one of the best movies ever made. I do not know when it was made but it must have been a some time ago.

What do you think of the movie?

i thought it was great, it is definately on a higher level though. It is bnased on this real newspaper tycoon, i am sure somebody here knows his name. I watched it with a friend that know the history really well so he prevented me from missing all the stuff i wouldn't have known. i definately recommend it though./

The tycoon was named William Randolph Hearst. He was alleged to have intensely hated both the movie's depiction of him, and the producer/ director, Orson Welles.

the maker of citizen cane became blacklisted as a result of hearst's power. The movie did not become known as great move until years later.

Okay, it's Citizen Kane trivia time! 1. Name the actress who played Susan Alexander and the real-life person she was based on. 2.Name the real mansion Xanadu was based on;for extra points, which 60's epic did it appear in? 3. Which soap-opera star played Kane's 1st wife? 4. How many Oscars did the film's composer win? 5. In fact, how many Oscars did the film itself win?tjoeb};>
