In short: A good movie!

This is a sort of time-travel movie starring Dennis Quaid and Jim Caviezel, in which a father and son are able to communicate across a span of 30 years via a Ham radio and some sunspot/Aurora Borealis phenomenon. The actual premise for this is not really explained, which I saw as a good thing. (They couldn't mess up the science of it then!)

The movie concentrates on how changing the past changes the present. You may think this topic is hackneyed and dull, but Frequency is lively and entertaining. It is a suspensful, well-put together movie with a good dose of humor and a few lovely plot twists.

I caught a sneak preview. Do tell me what you think of it if/when you see it! It opens Friday, April 28.

Thanks for the review, Sand! I'd seen the previews and had wondered how good it would be. I just may take your recommendation and see it now!

Hi princess patty! My university is part of this wonderful thing called Network Event Theater (NET). About 4 or 5 times a year, sneak preview movies are sent to certain universities all over the country by satellite, and we get to see them for free. We're only limited by the seating. It's a great deal! And I'm on the committee that helps run the movies, so I get to give out the free stuff the sponsors send us. Last week, when this showed, we had free candy bars to give away!
