Short time to comment, as this one comes out on Wednesday, May 24. I liked the first episode enough to buy it, so you can probably imagine how much anticipation I've had for the second installment to finally arrive. Tom Cruise looks much more like a secret agent with a little too much attitude in the new one. Probably has something to do with the longer hair. (Hmm...biased opinion? Maybe...) I'm also extremely happy to see the return of Ving Rhames. He's one of my favorite actors, along with an M:I-2 newcomer, Anthony Hopkins. I'd bet that this one will compare to or even surpass the first movie. What do you think?

Wasn't as good as I had hoped, but it was certainly worth seeing. A nice change was that Cruise had a little more edge to his character this time around. I didn't think much of the girl, and there was far too little involvement of the other spies. Great FX shots, and the stunts were pretty cool. It's more action movie where the first M.I. film was more suspense. I'd pick Gladiator over this one if you have to choose, but I'd have to vote for seeing this in a theater and not waiting for the video.

Is the story good? Theme?

The plot's pretty well done, and there's enough of a mindgame to make it fun. Remember the masks from the first movie? There's some really good use of those again.

I'd rate this one a medium bag o' popcorn. Some good action. I agree about the use of the masks - good stuff. Again, more action than mystery. Looks like Tom buffed up for the role. =) Worth a matinee price, but not full price, although I'd definitely want to see it in the theatre.

There are several shots of the Opera House, some downtown scenes, but most of what we saw could have been filmed in any large city. There is one scene that was obviously filmed in the outback, though.
