I'd like some feed back from anyone whose seen this movie. We recently rented it, and couldn't even get through it! Didn't like ANY of the characters, had a hard time figuring out where it was all going. So please.....give me some insight!

I went to the theater to see it. Here's my take...

You weren't supposed to like any of the characters. The only one's you could feel sympathy for were Craig's wife (Cameron Diaz) and John Malkovich. Craig you could feel for until he made the really bad choices based on his desires. Craig (John Cusack) was a tormented soul and he gave in to greed and lust and ego etc. The movie was supposed to be very darkly funny and I think it achieved that quite well. I actually enjoyed it immensely and I can't wait for my husband to see it because I know he will too.

If It makes you feel any better I saw it with two girlfriends and one of them said she HATED it. She admitted that she just plain didn't get it. The other one really loved it and we talked about it alot after.

I think its a very subtle movie and it requires you to really think, not just watch for entertainment...some people don't like those kind of movies, but I do.

Thanks Hungree, we had heard such great things about this movie, that it was a bit disappointing. Of course, frame of mind always comes into play as well....might give it another try....

One more thing if you don't mind? Orsen Bean's character? Purpose? (Other than raving pervert? It was a bit difficult to see him in this role.)

If you made it to the end of the movie you would have seen the whole thing with Orson's character. He really wasn't a pervert. I don't want to tell it here as it would be a spoiler...just know that he has a pivitol role and it all makes sense in the end.
