The two main summer movies I want to see are The Perfect Storm and Gone in Sixty Seconds. I've already seen Shanghai Noon, Mission Impossible 2, Gladiator, Frequency, U-571, Where the Heart Is and a lot of other movies now in theatres.....

Does anyone know if "Gone in Sixty Seconds" is a remake of the movie of the same name that played in theaters in the late 70's?
(1977 perhaps)

I'll never forget that movie because a friend and I went to see it at the local theater and after the movie, we were goofing around on the sidewalk when my friend knocked me down and then ran into the street.
He got hit by a car doing 20 mph over the speed limit.
He has since fully recovered but it took him almost a year to get all his abilities back.
To this day I can't pass that spot on the street without remembering that movie and that night.

Leprechaun-- good memory! The original of Gone in Sixty Seconds came out in 1974... and yes, this is a remake. I couldn't place the name of the new director (Dominic Sena) and it was driving me nuts, since the trailer makes it sound as if he's a bigwig... "the new film by Dominic Sena!" So I went and looked him up... he directed Kalifornia. So now this thing is a must-see.

Good to hear from fellow movie addicts! Gone in 60 Seconds looks really exciting. Likewise for The Perfect Storm. I don't know when X-men will be out, but I'll be waiting in line for the first show.

The official X-men movie web site has the list of stars, registration for e-mailed movie info, and two trailers.

Just noticed that they'll premiere a new trailer tonight at 8pm PST.

...and at the end of the new trailer it listed July 14 as the release date. Month and a half to go, mutants!
