Round 22 ~ MondayThe theme is a movie I've never seen: South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut. I don't really want to see the movie or anything. I just wanted to use the words in the title . 1. South - Tell me a country that lies entirely south of the Equator in Africa. 2. Park - Yosemite National Park in California has a few waterfalls in it that are over 300 feet high. Name one of them, please. 3. Bigger - They were big enough to be nominated as Best Musical for the Antoinette Perry ("Tony") Awards that were announced May 15, 2006. Name one of the 4 nominees in that category (no revivals!). 4. Longer - Nope. They were quite long enough, I reckon. Name a network series that debuted and was cancelled during or immediately after its first episode. No pilot episodes, please, since those aren't considered 'series' yet. 5. Uncut - Maybe some of these could have/should have been cut? Name a screen couple who won an MTV Movie Award for "Best Kiss" in the 1990s. This'll be open until early Thursday and, as always, if you get stuck don't hesitate to PM me. Enjoy.

Yikes. physalius - you need to PM your answers to the quiz host . There's a little flag blinking up on your "My Home". Click up there and you have a message (at least one). We'll get this all on the right page. I like your answers, by the way !

I Know you are eagerly awaiting the results but I have three observations this time:
1) Half of you thought "Fawlty Towers" was a bit fishy.
2) North Carolina is a popular state.
3) No one picked George in The Secret Seven. I wonder what this means...
As usual, it takes me a while to get to the results but here they are:
40 Points - Gatsby
35 Points - Ren, Jane Marple, Little Woman, Physalius, Glamel
30 Points - Bracklaman, Mugaboo
25 Points - Maggie, Cinnam0n
Congratulations and a big round of applause to our winner-- Gatsby
Thank you to all that played and Ren, I am sory, but the envelope never made it here again. The postal system needs an overhaul.
Until next time, I wish you a good morning or a good afternoon or a good evening or a good night. I will leave it up to you to pick the most appropriate.
Edited to add the answers that came through just after the original posting. They did not affect Gatsby's win and I wanted to have 10 players at last.

A quick recalculation of the points sees just one of the original 9 players with a different score--Gatsby. However, the new score does not affect the final result--Gatsby still wins the round. As it is nearly midnight, I will not change the results yet and will await some feedback. I must get some sleep.

Sorry, I never got my results up over the weekend. I had planned to do it when we got back yesterday from a weekend away with friends but unfortunately the car got bogged and we ended up getting back about 11pm, rather tried and cold.
I will close the round now and put the answers up once I have taken my son to school.

Answers to Round 24 (7 people played)
1) If you were going to be marooned on a desert island and could only take one object with you, besides the clothes you are wearing, what would you take (boats, rafts, hot air balloons, planes etc and devices to contact the outside world are excluded)
Worth 10 points Axe, Fridge (full of essentials like icecream), solar power radio (for the Archers), Velveeta cheese, a good book, many bars of soap.
One person said "boat with plenty of gasoline)" but I did say boats were excluded. I allowed the radio because it seemed the person only wanted it to listen to not to contact the outside world. I would also like to know how the person who choose it plans to power the fridge.
2) Name any actress who appeared in the 2005 movie "The Island"
Worth 10 points Siobhan Flynn, Olivia Weston, Noa Tishby
Worth 5 points Scarlett Johansson (2), Kate Boyer (2)
3) Give me a word of three letters or more that can be made from the letters in ISLAND. No repeating of letters, plurals are allowed
Worth 10 points nails, dial, lands, dais, sin, lad, slid
4) Name one of the Bounty Mutineers who settled on Pitcairn Island
Worth 10 points Fletcher Christian, William McCoy, John Adams (also known as Alexander Smith), Edward Young, Isaac Martin
Worth 5 points John/Jack Williams (2)
Unmentioned - John Mills, William Brown, Matthew Quintal. Of the nine men only six - John Mills, Matthew Quintal, John Adams, William McCoy,Ned Young and Fletcher Christian - left descendants on the island.
5) Name one (not a group is islands) of the islands that make up the South Sandwich Islands
Worth 10 points Leskov, Visokoi, Bellinghausen
Worth 5 points Bristol (4)
Scores
50 points - Mugaboo
45 points - Ren33, Cinnam0n, Gatsby72 40 points - bracklaman 35 points - Alien Goddess 30 points - glamel
