Saw it last night. I must say that although it was fairly well done, there was definitely something missing.

Everything was so unbelievably impossible that after a while you think "yeah, he's going to die unless he can kill those 30 people, jump off the 50 foot cliff into the boat, strangle those two guys and then punch out some sharks" -- no problem.

There was certainly some good camera work, but there was a whole element of "fun" that just didn't exist. Good stunts, but poor atmosphere.

And I TOTALLY didn't like the use of masks in the movie. It became a game of "oh no, he's in trouble! oh, who cares, it's probably just a bad guy with a mask on". Zero suspense, zero sympathy for characters, entirely mechanical.

I agree with both comments. They used the masks once to often and it ruined the whole scene for me. I don't want to give anything away but, I knew who was who every time except once. Did anybody like the first one better? I sure did. People said it was to complicated but I say the second was is to simple. MI:2 is so straight forward you are not surprised by anything that happens. Not even the masks.
