Round 12 or is it Round 1?
I'm going with a theme set of questions this round. The questions all have something to do with the number 5. Why? Just because I like 5.
1. Jupiter is the 5th planet. It has 63 known natural satellites. You only have to name one. 2. Name a song from The 5th Dimension's Age of Aquarius Album. 3. James Monroe was the fifth US president. Name a member of his Cabinet. 4. Help! was the Beatles fifth album. Give me a song from the album. 5. Name a cast member from the movie The Fifth Element.
Round will close on Friday. Links provided if needed.

Quote:
17 - #2...can you elaborate? I don't understand what you are looking for. Thanks!
Finding an average (the mean) is not always as simple as adding up all the numbers and dividing by the total of numbers. For example someone travelling from Liverpool to Manchester (55km) at 40kph and returning at 50kph does not take 45kph average but 44 and 4/9th kph average. Another example of a different type of mean is when you invest say $100 at 10% interest, after 10 years it would be worth $259.37. Using a simple average you might work out that after five years your investment will be worth $179.69, when in fact it's worth $161.05 - which you can calculate by using a different type of mean.
Those are the three main ones, but there are others (look up on Wikipedia for a few more, I've deliberately not named any of them).

Round 19 Monday Yes, yes...I'm a day early but I was sitting here and an extra day up might get me a few more players, too : Today's theme is guilty pleasures ~ and not all my own, I'll hasten to add! 1. Once again the MTV Movie awards recently aired. While the most unimportant awards issued for cinema they're fun and they nominated 6 people for "Best Breakout Performance" this year. Name one of them, please. 2. Even though I never watch it (wrong gender, I think) "The View" is a laid-back American talk show that airs weekday mornings. I'm looking for a regular hostess on that show past or present ( not future ). 3. Here's one of my guilty pleasures! 60's music! I'm wondering who was an original member of either "The Four Tops" or "The Shirelles". 4. Here's another pleasure and no guilt about it. I venerate artist Georgia O'Keeffe. If only I were in Santa Fe, New Mexico I could eat at the late painter's namesake restaurant "The O'Keeffe Cafe". The menu lists 6 available desserts. Pick one of them. 5. We all know what the 7 Deadly Sins are by now (if not, a quick search will remind you). This time I'm looking for a novel (past or present) whose title contains one of those sins and I'll need the author too, please. Note: liberties with names is fine, as in 'wrath' is quite the same thing as 'anger' and so forth. This Round will close up sometime Thursday and, as always, help is readily available if needed [except on #5, that is; no one particular site that I know of will assemble those novels in that way]. Enjoy! Edited for horse-like spelling

Round 20
A day late, sorry!
1. A human tooth (the different types of incisors, premolars, and molars are separate answers).
2. A type of fabric pattern. (I realize this is pretty unspecific. I will accept most anything.)
3. One of the top two finalists in any season of American Idol.
4. A character on the SNES (Super Nintendo) game "Street Fighter 2".
5. A nation involved in the Central American Free Trade Agreement. (Excluding the Dominican Republic as it was added later and became the DR-CAFTA)
If you need help, I am here. The video game question shouldn't be too obscure, but I can help if you need it.

This topic seems rather apt given the circumstances I find myself in lately. 1) Name a film or book in which loss of memory is an important element of the plot. 2) A song title which mentions either Memory or Memories. 3) Memento Mori was written by Muriel Spark. Name one of her other novels. 4)Ophelia in Hamlet speaks of 'Rosemary for remembrance'. Name another herb. 5)'You must remember this' is a line from the song 'As Time Goes By' in Casablanca. Name another line from the song. This round will close sometime on Monday - if I remember...
