Since this is my favorite topic, I thought that I would just bring up that Survivor and Big Brother are thinking of making movies about the show.

Oh, please no. Hasn't that whole concept been beaten to death by now?

Boyscout...I happen to share your love of Survivor. I really loved the whole show. I know there are many people in who will automatically assume I must be shallow, ignorant, and lack a sense of quality because I am one of the 40 million that watched the show faithfully...but I won't let that stop me from sayin' it loud and sayin' it proud "I LOVE SURVIVOR!"

Now...shall we cast the roles...who should play who?

Here is my list:

Colleen: Winona Ryder

Gervace: Dave Chappelle

Greg: Matthew McConaughy

Gretchen: Jessica Lange

Rudy: Paul Newman

Jenna: Sandra Bullock

Sonja: Ellen Burstyn

BB: James Coburn

Susan: Sissy Spacek

Joel: Casper Van Dien

Kelly: Kathryn Erbe

Richard: Christopher Walken

Ramona: Regina King

Dirk: Matt Damon

Stacey: Kyra Sedgewick

Sean: Tom Cruise

What do ya think? I'd love to see a movie made....it'd be a hoot.

Oh . . . I'd love a movie! To go along with the Survivor action figures, the book, the board game, oh my! I LOVE your casting parts, but I would prefer to have the Survivors themselves be the actors. Of course, they are not proffesionals. Thanks hungree(e) for admitting your Survivor affection.

And while I'm at it, I'll stand up tall and firm and shout along with you:
I LOVE SURVIVOR!

They are actually thinking of making a movie?? Aren't the shows already almost like movies?? I will admit that I was one of those Survivor fans. I don't like Big Brother as much. Somehow it's just not as exciting.

Hi Potter!
I don't know if anyone is SERIOUSLY considering making a movie or not, but Boyscout and I were speculating.

I agree...Big Brother is a Big Snoozer. Can't stand it. They made a mistake by putting a bunch of mature, honest, fair-minded adults in there...they are all too responsible. Imagine how much more interesting it would have been if they'd really mixed it up and thrown in a few "trouble-makers". Then again, Will and Jordan were both a hand full and they were the first ousted. The show is a hit in England where they have a different house and cast.

Now, ahem, this is not a TV forum and I shall shut up about TV shows unless they are in direct relation to Movie talk as this thread began!

May I add that in my spare time I actually made replicas of Pagong Beach, Tribal Council Area, AND sand spit in my backyard?

Thanks for clearing that up for me hungree, but if they ever did decide to make a movie of Survivor they should go to you for the cast list! It would deffinetly make an interesting movie! And oh yeah, BoyScout, you must be the ULTIMATE Survivor fan! In fact you could direct the movie!

I LOVE the UK Big Brother (finishes next Friday), but I don't think I'd go and see a movie of it, surely the whole thing about it's appeal was that it was unpredicatable and current - or buy the book which Channel4 are hoping to sell loads of.

I don't know if you realise that the end of Survivor US was actually quite a big story on the UK news. Only the nasty guy didn't win BB in the UK (we haven't got Survivor in the UK yet) - he got kicked out for cheating.

(Shhhhhhh! If you know the ending to BB, don't tell it here! We could have someone who's watching it and doesn't want to know who actually wins before the show is officially over! Feel free to email/PM the answer if someone wants to know, though.)
