I recently read in the newspaper that J.K.Rowling has said that 2 of the main characters are going to die in the last book.

I believe one of them has to be Lord Voldemort. She can't let him win so he sort of has to die. The other one I'm not so certain about. Hopefully she'll not kill either Hermione or Ron.

Who do you think is going to die?

Apparently she has intimated that it might actually be Harry.

yes, I read that too, but she can't be that cruel and kill him, aren't children books supposed to have a happy ending?

I wouldn't exactly call the Harry Potter books a childrens book - particually after the last few books, which should have come with a health warning! I consider them a book that both adults and children can enjoy.
Who's going to die? Well Rowling said, in a interview, that two major characters die, but one who she had wanted to die has had a reprieve. So I really hope Voldemort dies with...I am really sorry to say this, but Hermione I think one of the trio has to die at some point. Who has got the reprieve? Neville! He's been in the background with Harry and his friends for so many years, and he might had been the "Chosen one" too. Will Rowling kill off Harry? I hope not, but it will be one way of not writing any other books.

I wouldn't doubt if Harry Potter dies in the seventh book. But, who knows, it's up to JKR to decide who dies and who lives.

I think it will be Harry and Lord Voldemort. The prophecy in book 5 keeps coming back to me, "one cannot live while the other survives".

Well I think Harry is a horcrux (sp?) so I think he'll have to die. And I wouldn't be too upset with that, because then he'd be with his family, Sirius, and Dumbledore: the most important people in his life.

I really hope that Voldemort dies and Harry lives. But, that probably won't be the case. Plus, having Harry die would excuse Jo from any more books.
