You're out on a date (or out with your wife). She wants to see the latest romantic, "sigh"y movie where there's lots of heart-tugging and emotion.

Do you gripe and complain? Or, are you willing to go with her? Do you enjoy those kinds of movies? Why or why not?

It's situational. It depends on the mood, the relationship at the moment and (for me at least) a lot has to do with the movie. Are we talking "Only You or My Best Friend's Wedding" or are we talking "A Passage to India or Mrs Brown"?

I'm with Cohalen. I'm more than willing to go see a welldone "Chick flick". However, there is no power on this earth that can make me see romantic "comedic" tripe like "You've Got Mail". Especially if the woman in question refuses to see the latest Jackie Chan movie.

It's called give and take, people!

Actually, I meant that I'd rather see "Only You" or "My Best Friend's Wedding" (or "You've got Mail" or "Picture Perfect") than the "Merchant-Ivory" type of fair.

Tomije's got it straight. I don't mind seeing a "chick flick" (glad I didn't say it first) once in a while, but if she's not willing to go see people getting shot and cars flipping over, our movie-viewing days are going to come to an end rather abruptly. As for whether or not I like those types of movies...um...no.

But really, gents, we are kidding ourselves, and the lady asking the question.

What we'd all like, deep down, is a girlfriend (and maybe just once in our lifetime) who digs porn. A gal who says, "Let's rent a dirty movie and copy it, as best we can."

Now, truly gents, if you had the choice of watching "Fried Green Tomatoes" or a woman's choice porn movie, which one would you pick?

Hey Tomije,
Here's a girl who "digs porn". Have for as long as I can recall. I'm very comfortable with my sexuality and as an intelligent, soulful, sexual, erotic, adult woman I can appreciate all kinds of things....some of which we will not discuss in the forum!

I even have a favorite adult movie actress....Janine! She is the most beautiful, fun, and sexy woman I've ever seen in any kind of movie!

Now, if the men will back me up on this one--when you read what Hungree said, you were excited. You read her post very carefully, looking for sarcasm, or some sort of test. When she appeared sincere, some part of you thought "well, alright!"

Janine is pretty saucy. I'm a Kobe Tai fan, myself, but I certainly can't dispute Janine. Well done, Hungree. Well said, well presented.

I will sleep well tonight knowing that there are women out there like you. Say Steve Earle rocks and I'll make an honest woman out of you (not really--it was a rhetorical device. You probably got that)

Now this is getting scary! Steve Earle? Love him.

My favorite CD is I Feel Alright. The one he made after prison and drug addiction were in the past. I love the whole CD, especially LAst of the Hardcore Troubadour, More Than I Can Do, and Hurtin Me, Hurtin You.

You are gaining points with me on a regular basis Tomije. If I were ten years younger, two kids and one husband less, I might come lookin' for ya!

You're hurtin' me, Hungree! "C'mon girl, you must be mad. What happen to the sweet love you 'n' me had?"
Tomije instead of Me? And after all those movie and music similarities. (sigh)
Well, the only porn vixen names that I can drag from my memory are Victoria Paris (primarily because she reminded me of a woman I was very much in love with) and Tracy Lords (who never really attracted me that much...she just had a name that was easy to remember).
As for Steve Earle, I like his stuff alright...but Tomije's probably more of a true fan like you are.
But really...If you had to choose watching a Janine flick, er film...or, let's say True Lies or the Long Kiss Goodnight...for a week solid...which would you pick?
(Good Muir quote, Tomije!)

Cohalen,
You're right. How could I let Tomije come between us?
If forced to choose I'd have to go with you and Ah-nold for the week. Porno loses its thrill if you watch it too much!

I respectfully bow out. And it has nothing to do with the bountiful family life at all.

I just feel bad for Cohalen.

No Problem Tomije...hungree is enough woman for both of us,,,and she's got a mind of her own. And she knows who the best man is...she picked him already. (We're just lovable also-rans, Sniff, sniff!)
But the posts above did remind me of that line from the movie Heart Beat from Nick Nolte (as Neal Cassidy): "Well, Well...My best gal...and my best pal!"

Did you envision this thread taking the course it has Linda1?
Maybe not!

Hungree, you disappoint me.
You're a brave woman making the admission you have, but how about helping us girls out and giving us the names of some guys we should be looking out for. Let the FT men look after themselves.
Go check out the dimensions of Julian Andretti....just for starters.

LMAO Auschic...I have to hang my head in total embarassment and admit...I have NO IDEA who any of the men are! LOL!! Honestly, they all serve only one purpose in those films and none have them have ever "stuck out" in the crowd! Every once in awhile I'll find myself wondering what planet or bizarre mutation one of them spawned from (if ya know what I mean), but other than that, I don't think I've ever found one of them the least bit intriguing.

Give me a real man with a little soft pot belly, invisible abs, receding hair, and a five o'clock shadow on his non-chiseled chin! The guys in those movies are usually too "pretty" for me.

I'm happily stunned by Hungree's description of her perfect man. Aside from the receding hair thing, I'm that guy! Cohalen, being an also ran has hurt before, and I'm sure it will hurt again....

Hungree, I think you need to go on a mission, converting other women to your point of view. I'll give you a dollar if you do it.

Auschic, when it comes down to disturbing male dimensions, it begins and ends with the legend himself, John Holmes. Ron Jeremy is cool too, but purely because he is so ugly that he garnered the nickname "the Hedgehog." He makes all of us men feel better, aside from his one odd feature.

In the future, if you ladies wish to discuss male pornstars, perhaps you should start your own thread rather than pollute the "A Question for the men" thread.

You've wrecked my virginal eyes.

O.k. O.k. I know this thread is for the guys, but I thought I would answer for my guy. He ALWAYS gripes and complains but goes with me anyway. We usually end up doing one of those "If you see my movie, I'll see yours". And, he usually ends up not liking them. However, "Breakfast at Tiffany's" is one of my favorite movies and when I made him watch it with me, he said he actually kinda liked it. I guess I should stick to the classics and I'll be safe!

PrincessPatty--

As long as you both bathe in the wonderful hot-ness that is Audrey Hepburn, and never read the book, then "Breakfast at Tiffany's" is a great movie.

However, if you read the book, the movie is no longer a romantic masterpiece. It becomes a complete Hollywood bastardization. Fair warning.
