the one i missed the most is fawlty towers (only two series)

A lot of sitcoms go on well past their sell-by date, but I always thought there's plenty more mileage left in Blackadder.

very true, they could do a series about world war two.

I used to enjoy Love Thy Neighbour but somehow I doubt if it will ever be shown as repeats!

It was about a black couple moving into a house next door to a white couple. The two men were both bigots and called each other racist names, the two wives were the best of friends. the men not only live next door to each other both both workded for the same company.

At the time it was made it was not considered politically incorrect, but as I said, I cannot imagine them showing repeats.

Several :- 1. Minder, 2. You Rang M'Lord, 3. It Ain't Half Hot Mum, to name but three! I really enjoyed the 'Blackadder Goes Forth' WWI series, but wasn't so keen on the others.
However my favourite of all was Red Dwarf, the comedy Sci Fi series.

Waiting for God, now that one was really hilarious.

Dare I say "Yes Minister" and "Yes Prime Minister", I've watched all the episodes so many times, I find myself mouthing the words as they're said!

Dawn French is hilarious in The Vicar of Dibley.

Monty Python , without a doubt. Who could forget the one in the chocolate factory. Thinking up new flavours:
"Anthrax Ripple?"
"Crunchy Frog?" LOL!!!

Fawlty Towers was pure genius, and I wish they would have gone a few more seasons. My second favorite is The Young Ones, wish there were more of those.

Okay, forgive me because I can't recall the name of the show, but it was about Death's son in human form sent to "take" an older, well-off woman. The glitch was that he befriended her and ended up simply putting off the carrying out of his "duty." I LOVED that one but we don't get anymore, just, mostly, "Keeping Up Appearances" and "Are Your Being Served?" and ""As Time Goes By." Sigh.

One of my favourites, which to my knowledge has never been repeated, was 'A Fine Romance' in which Judi Dench and her husband Michael Williams played a painfully shy couple in an awkward relationship. It was lovely!

In most cases - all of the above!

I would love to see more of "The Thin Blue Line". This was a Rowan Atkinson comedy set in a police station in the (I assume) fictional town of Gasforth.

I recently bought series 1 and 2 of "The Good Life" on DVD. I love this show and one of the best things about it is that the humour is not dated. It is just as funny today as it was when it first came out in the mid-1970s.

I love a lot of British sitcoms, especially the older ones like Please sir, On the buses, Mind your language and To the manor born, plus many others.

My two all time favorites that I do miss the most however, are Allo Allo and The Goodies. I liked the way Allo Allo took one of the most tragic periods of history, WW2, and made us laugh at it, and The Goodies are just plain over the top classic comedy.

The one you're thinking about is 'Mulberry' with Karl Howman of 'Brush Strokes' fame, it was a bit too strange and clever (like 'Mayo'), needless to say I loved it.

I used to like "The Lovers" with Richard Becksindale and Paula Wilcox.Lots of Percy Filth and Geoffrey Bubbles Bun Bun.
Anybody remember it?

We have a channel called BBC Prime. Usually they put a lot of my real favourites on like: Only Fools and Horses, Open All Hours (nothing can beat the 'Singing in the Rain" scene in that!) Vicar of Dibley and sometimes "My Hero". However , at the moment we are overdosing on Red Dwarf which I just can't stand.

I also enjoyed a fine romance Maggie, especially as the couple were actually married in real life. Sadly since then Michael Williams has died, and Judi Dench went on to make the similar (and even better in my opinion) As time goes by, which since about a year ago is also confined to the archives and one I'll now miss as well for some time.
I always liked Geoffrey Palmer, in Reggie Perrin and even more so in Butterflies, both of which are two more I miss, and Butterflies, though now regularly repeated on cable, was made when I was exactly the same age as the two boys (well, averagely...) and besides being an only child lived in a very similar household except my mother did work as well, unlike Ria.

If they did another series with the same parents and possibly grandchildren/daughters in law I'm sure they'd get both old and new viewers getting hooked all over again. Especially with Wendy Craig being consigned to that dismal hospital drama I wouldn't even show as an anaesthetic...

I am really thrilled today. Some months ago I visited HMV in the hopes of finding 'Waiting For God' on video or dvd, but without success. I also tried finding it in shops in the uk, again without success. Today I casually checked Amazon having just ordered a couple of books and much to my amazement, and delight, I found all four series are now on dvd so I have ordered them all!

Oh Sue I adored Waiting for God. My friend and I watched every episode and we were sad when it ended. I loved her and want to be just like Diane when I get to be that age.
I wish I could afford to buy the whole series.


I also loved A Fine Romance and As Time Goes By.Anything with Judi Dench in as a comedy I will watch, And her and Geoffery Palmer were so believable as a couple.

I also adored Keeping Up Appearances.

I wish we got a BBC channel.
Oh well maybe I will suggest my library add a few of these series to their DVD collectoin.

I don't miss this particular comedy series, as I have the whole series...25 dvds ...on DVD. I love "Only Fools and Horses". Admittedly that some of the episodes...particually the later ones...aren't as good as some of the "older" ones, but I will never tire of this comedy

Fawlty Towers is one of my favorites, but it was only one season,not two. A total of 12 episodes.

Most of those mentioned above. Also, "Jeeves and Wooster". I love Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry.

I'm watching all my favorites on DVDs via well, not sure I'm going to publicize their thing as they don't need it, but the one that a lot of Americans are trying.

It's fantastic to see To the Manor Born and Are You Being SErved? and KUA.
It relaxes me.
I'm also enjoying the Vicar of Dibley.

I really did not like Father Ted...just didn't make me laugh.
I'm uncomfortable, not about the religious jokes, but about the poor old codger there in his vegetative state.
