Holly Hunter was the second person that did this, but she was the first woman. I'm looking for the first person to achieve this.

That's the one I was looking for, my friend. Al was the first person to win in the leading category ('92), and Holly was the first woman to do so in '93. Ooh.....you're soooooo smart!!!

Thank You! That was kind. Since we're on the topic of Academy Awards, Who is the all time leader in Hosting assignments (including, Solo, Co-host or "half" host*) Extra credit if you mention how many years. (* Solo hosting either the first or last half of the show) [This message has been edited by Cohalen (edited 11-12-2000).]

Way to go, aofive! Your question's next! [This message has been edited by Cohalen (edited 11-12-2000).]

Forrest Wittaker was involved with all three films. He directed "Hope Floats", and acted in the other two.

Annie, I know what you mean--I'm the one who usually gets here too late to give an answer. I've got a fairly easy one for all of you. I don't even remember whether this one's been asked before, but here goes... What movies have won Academy Awards in ALL of the following categories: Best Picture, Director, Actor, Actress, and Writing?

I think the answer to this one is Silence of the Lambs. Jodie Foster, Anthony Hopkins, Jonathon Demme, Ted Tally all won in their categories and the film took Best Picture as well. Is this the answer you were looking for Loneranger?

I Found 4 Such winners. In addition to Silence of the Lambs there were also: One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest; Terms of Endearment; and It Happened One NightWere there any others? This was quite fun and enlightening. So many missed this "perfecta" by just little things. Kramer vs Kramer, On Golden Pond, Driving Miss Daisy, Ordinary People...all missed by either one person in the wrong catagory or one person didn't win in the correct catagory. Difficult thing to achieve. And "It Happened One Night" had the stiffest competition...eleven other contenders!

Cohalen nailed the correct three movies--"It Happened One Night" (1934), "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" (1975). and "The Silence Of The Lambs" (1991--but he added a fourth film that did not win in all categories. "Terms Of Endearment" did not have a winner in the Best Actor category. Jack Nicolson took home the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his work in that film. Congratulations, Cohalen! It's your turn to try to stump us.

They all were born on November 17th. Different years, but same date. You had me on the imdb for about 15 minutes on that one Cohalen! The first thing I thought of was Mary and Marty working together on Color of Money so I started with those two...then I started trying to connect Rupaul to them and I noticed the birthdays. Good one!
