As an American, Floyd Landis is an embarassment. Just wondering, for you internationals out there, if you hear much about the steroid controversies here in the states. Lets see, there are confirmed reports on steroids in baseball, football (the real football, not the slightly softer international version) and even cycling! What's next, Tiger Woods is tested positive for high testosterone? Comeon!

Those things are very upsetting. I still remember the joy at Ben Johnson's win, followed by at first disbelief and then crushing disappointment about his doping.

Unfortunately sports has become so much of a business venture that such scandals continue to dog the athletes. After the Ben Johnson affair there were quite a few athletes coming out to say that it's become almost impossible to play honest and get into the winners' circle. Of course that's not an excuse, but certainly shows a disturbing trend.

I think there need to be some rules about business involvement and athletes accepting money, and we've also got to lighten up as fans. Not everybody can be first; to be the second best or third best in the world is still pretty darn good!
