I tried searching Google, but didn't find what I was looking for. Perhaps my googling wasn't done well enough...

These sci-fi books are in a trilogy. I know the first one is called "The Punisher" but can't remember the other two in the series, or the name of the author.

I recall there being a city in it called Megapolis, which was a highly technological place and people had chips installed in the backs of their necks. The city had huge walls around it to separate it from the lower class towns. The main character is in one of those towns and is taken to Megapolis, away from his family.

Does this ring a bell for anyone?

I googled as well, but came up with nothing that matched your discription. Sorry! You could try Amazon.com. You may get some luck there.

The Punisher has had several series of comics and graphic novels and is based upon the Mack Bolan/Executioner series of books by Don Pendleton. A number of sci-fi writers talk about 'megapolis' from Asimov to Zelazny or 'Foundation' to 'Damnation Alley'. They also include the likes of William Gibson, Harry Harrison, E 'Doc' Smith etc. I can recommend Book Sleuth on Abebooks, and a request for information on some of the longer established sci-fi boards may help.

Regards,

Tin
