After exactly 3 years my new computer fell apart as it wasn't really new any more, and I just took delivery of, and finished loading programs on to a custom made effort (while keeping the old drives as they were fine) with the latest speeds. It is truly amazing. Besides refusing to accept a floppy disk I just made after transferring accounts to another computer it has behaved perfectly and will hopefully last longer than the last as some of my old secondhand computers were still happy after 9 years or so.

My low point: Whew! I had an enormous "episode" last night. Surprised me, it did. I hadn't really danced with one of those of any merit since Christmas Day. I'd almost forgotten how this whole parade of elephants goes - so maybe it was good to be reminded. But I'll still say I didn't like it much. And I woke up (even though I felt kinda lucky that I got to) this morning all sorts of east of west. Annoying . Rotten mood indeed. All I could think was that I had to get mad at somebody (and summarily did). But I didn't say a word. Probably just as well all around. And I even went out into this weird Ohio winter, managed to get what I needed, got home, wondered "what's next?" and settled into my desk chair perch. Then my high point kicked in (it always does): everybody's still here and talking. And I felt pretty happy. One more time - and there's no whining about it, I reckon. However, if any of you would like to hear me whine my email address is gatsbywhimpers@.. (just kidding - it's likely all been heard before *sighs*)

That sucks Gatsby. It just isn't fair that you keep getting all these nasty events.

aww Gats The high this week was having Conor's new computer installed for his school, it's a you beaut top of the line thingy with satellite internet connection and it's all provided by the Department of Education (thanks!) and we're allowed to use it for all our own stuff too. It's heaps faster than my one so no doubt I'll be using COnor's mostly now. Only thing you can't do is financial transactions and that kind of thing so then I'll pop back to mine. No lows except for maybe realising that in a cople of weeks Conor starts school.

Thanks, Cinnam0n, I did post about the concert in Music. It was just wonderful, I am still reeling. Gats, I don't know how you do it, I would be a raving loony by now (I rest my case!) My high is a great piece of pleasure to me. I was asked to teach a group of local Kindergarten teachers, mainly about how to teach their classes some phonics. I was nervous, as I usually am around groups of adults, well, large groups anyway. I can address a school of 500 students in an assembly without batting an eyelid, but adults are a whole new ball game. Anyway, I was very pleased with myself. The were attentive, not just out of politeness, I think , and appreciative, and I actually enjoyed it. So thats a new experience for me. No lows, except it is much too cold here (for me at least) 11 degrees C and falling. No thanks.

>>>> Even more amazing that he'll be starting school soon - you'll miss him Jill LOL - no I won't! Since we live in a remote area and too far from a school, he will do school at home and three times a week logs into the computer and can see his teacher and has lessons that way. The rest of the time it's up to me to 'teach' him. I'm more worried about how I'm going to handle school than he is. THe plus is that we can do it in our PJs. I notice that Sara is going to be visiting another school of the air on her trip in the Northern Territory - I'll be really interested to know what she thinks. http://www.schoolair-p.schools.nsw.edu.au/sotaupdatedsite/Templates/sotalmainframe.dwt

Hope you are well again Gats. Thinking of you.
The scool of the air looks realy interesting Copago - so much better than sending little ones off to boarding school. Best of luck to you and Conor.

I forgot you lived rather far out in Australia Jill! It sounds great fun, being taught at home, and by the Internet. I vaguely remember watching a old programme, when Australian kiddies were taught by over the radio. And you can go to school in your PJ's - what more could you want?? Sounds a perfect solution.

Happy Anniversary, Jane! It would be much less of a place here without you Sue, yep, to the left of 87 there although I'm not sure what the 87 even means. lol. I guess they'll get around to updating it sooner or later to add on the new families.

I must get on Skype more often but I never seem to have the time plus it's a bit of a pain with the lag on my 'net.
Not a low - just an observation kind of thing. When I was a kid we had a toybox that seemed to fit every toy myself and my two brothers owned. It was huge and seemed bottomless. Balls, games, a whole pile of MAD magazines, you name it it was in there.
Last trip to Mum's I finally talked her into giving it up and I bought it home. Haven't had much of a chance to do any work on it but pulled it out today to start stripping it down. I swear to God it has shrunk! It looks so small! LOL
(but the time I was peeved at my brother and wrote all the things I hated about him on the inside of the lid will always remain - cracks me up)
