Highlight - nearly finishing Conor's new bedroom - only have to finish off a bit more painting and more his gear in. That poor room has come a long way from the junk room a week ago!

Lowlight - COnor dropping and putting a small hole in a can of Lemonade on the verandah. Man that stuff sprays a looooong way and takes yonks to clean up!

I am quite sad as my poor dear little old cat died. She belonged to my son who found her in a dustbin at a few weeks old. She has never caused us an ioto of trouble , a mild, unassuming character. Even at the end, she passed away quietly . I knew she was sick and I was going to take her to the vet's this morning, the basket is ready on the side. She saved me the trouble of a trip there. Nineteen years of quiet untroublesomeness. So, I am sad.

So sorry Ren, they're so much part of the family and the longer they are around the more they become part of the furniture. But she had a long and happy life thanks to you and your family so that is what you'll all remember.

Oh ren, what a good life you've given her. Nineteen is such a wonderful age for a cat. Still, it's hard to lose a family member like that.

I know she was loved and well cared for and she will be missed terribly but you gave her and got back unconditional love right to the end.
Sending you hugs and our Deepest Sympathy.

I'm very sorry to hear about your kitty, Ren You can see she had a good life and lots of love, 19 years is quite a lot for a cat. I know it must be very sad losing such a good kitty... but at least she's not suffering anymore. So sorry again.

Thanks all, Funny how you miss them. She was little shadow really, never made much noise. She was just there, and now she isn't. Thanks for your messages.

Ren, so sad about your kitty. I had one just like her (by the sounds of it) for 17 years and when she died it was dreadful - I came to fully realize how much I had counted on her co-operative and unassuming good nature. I feel for your loss entirely.

Ren, I'm so sorry to hear of your kitty. Strange how they can become such a part of lives. Bless you for giving her a good home for so many years.

Oh, poor Ren, that's awful. But the truth is - you gave her a loving existence instead of letting her starve to death in a dumpster, and that counts for more than we can know in the big scheme of things.
Amazing how the little fur faces can become so much a part of us, isn't it?

Well, for all things cross-eyed and perplexing! I think my low point came two days ago with the most unusual predicament I've had for a while. First let me say that when or if your parents told you, as a tot,: "Stop making that face or your face might just stay that way !" they may have been making only partial [ghoulish] threats. I had an itch in my eye on Wednesday so, as most humans do, I gave my eyes a pretty hearty rub. Perhaps a little too hearty? Yikes, indeed, they stayed in the position I had shifted them to! I tell ya...one hasn't lived until one eye's pointed this way and the other that way, especially when one's never had to make such adjustments. Blech. After the requisite panic (which, really, served no purpose whatsoever) I decided to be patient and the eyes finally found their best directions. It was entirely odd and, I suppose, is not a good or a funny thing but I do muscle combat regularly so I guess the eyes have some of those I need to contend with, too.
High point? After all adjustments kicked in my vision has been better than usual . I can see both the coffee machine AND the computer without spinning my head like a possessed child actress in old movies. Whew !

I ought not laugh Gatsby, it is obviously a very serious matter and must have been terrifying, but your description DID make laugh.

I hope any improvement in sight is long lasting.

Life has to be in balance, and for every bad thing that happens one good thing must surely come.
But I would have loved for an exception to exist and good things only to come your way, Gats. I'm sorry you had to be exposed to such a 'surprise'. Good to hear you're over it and feeling better.

My high of the.....year, I think - today I received the parcels from Sue and Copago. But I will tell more about that in the proper topic.

Oh Gats I just had to laugh out loud at your description. That must have been scary (and I know not realy funny), but hope that all is well again.

Look on the bright side; no one can sneak up behind you now.

Gats, you have such a lovely way of taking a bad situation and making light of it while at the same time conveying how scary it must be. Have you ever thought of writing a book? Seems to me you'd do great.

Oh dear gats, you do have the most...unusual experiences! Glad everything is back to normal. I would have panicked a lot more than you seem to have done.

That's an odd one for sure Gats, maybe it was a way to correct your vision without you realising you were doing it. I've had uneven pupils for a long time but it doesn't seem to do anything or change much, just one of my numerous peculiarities.
My high was the arrival of my hardback photo album. Not for sticking in photos but a real professional book. I was expecting something that had come off an inkjet printer but a bit better, but got a professionally printed book of my 57 favourite photos since I went digital a year ago. I wish I could get 100 made and sell them but at least there's a good sample now. I was amazed how good it was and would recommend them to anyone.

Oh Gats! Such trouble these human bodies are for us ethereal souls! But I too, had to laugh as it sounds like something that would happen to me!

My lows for the week are just the same old, same old. I am pushing all lows into a corner for now and concentrating on being the best Santa Claus ever!

My high for the week was watching my celebrity nephew play a special "celebrity week" game show on TV for charity to benefit cancer, being mentioned as one of his family members fighting the disease, and having him "lose" gracefully with $25,000 for the charity. Too cool!
