Sara (Ren) is a real wimp, she cannot bear the cold.

That's so easy to understand, considering where she's coming from

I am fortunate to be a 'very warm' person, so I never had problems with cold weather....but always had a hard time with our summers (42 C in July/August! )

Oh Denni, I know Dad is in a extra special place, with no pain, and he's with a extra - special Aunt of mine, and other family and friends. People never leave us entirely...I don't think so anyway. They'll always be watching over us

Summer has hit here with force been over 40* this week and no sign of abating. It's not as though it is anything new, afterall it happens every year, but it doesn't mean I have to like it!

Maybe you should move to Tassie? Loved the snow pics from there (last week) . . . we're being nicely toasted up here in Queensland, ready for a really HOT Chrissy . . . . . . mmm, but what else is new?

Lol Copago . . . nice place to visit but you wouldn't wanna live there (and all that) huh?

They're talking about the railway tracks buckling out west now after several days of 40+ temps . . .

Doesn't it snow in Bucharest?

It might snow in Dallas on Thursday...not looking forward to it, as people can't drive on dry pavement, much less with snow or ice falling! I'm under a winter storm watch, as I may see 1-3" of snow/ice accumulations...yuck! It's 70°F (21°C) at 2:10am CST (8:10am GMT) Wednesday, and change is in the air.

Well dg dave at least you will be able to spend the whole day on FT if you get snowed in. What a good excuse you will have.
We are enjoying (sweat) 30 deg C at the moment. Would enjoy a white Christmas, its been almost 23 years the last one. (Not here that is).

Low of today (and almost the whole year) we had to put our ridgeback down today. His liver and spleen were so enlarged they pushed his intestines and stomach flat and he stopped eating. The vet force fed him for 2 days but just kept loosing more weight. Nothing could be done for him. 2 options, one to put him down and two to take him home and watch him slowly starve to death.

My daughter rescued him from the SPCA three years and 5 months ago, when he was about 8 weeks old. He was picked up in the street and brought to the SPCA, underweight with mainge and ring-worms. We nursed him back to health thru digestion problems to find he had a hip defect. Anyhow he had a good life with us, my husband spoilt him rotten, he had a wonderful nature and not a mean bone in his body.

It was sad when we went to say goodbye as he thought we were there to bring him home.

Many tears were shed by the whole family and a few friends.

Bye Buster.

I am sorry you had to go through that lady1.

I imagine how difficult it must be to decide to do it and to say goodbye for ever. My heart is with you.

What a difficult thing to have to do. You gave him his dignity though, and that counts for a lot.

How sad. I send you my sympathy. I know it was hard but you did it out of love, caring and compassion for him.

Oh lady1, I feel for you and your family. I love dogs so much that I'd much rather be with them than some people I know. You gave him a good home and bless you for that. May you always remember your friend and family member with fondness and laughter and the good times you shared.

I just now found this thread, Lady1. It's so awful to have to make these decisions for your pets...but ultimately you did the right thing. Bless your heart - I know it's hard for you right now.

Thanks ktstew. As the days go bye it gets easier. My husband misses him like mad, they were a 'couple'. Buster followed him wherever he went.

Highs and lows, I can't seem to get one without the other.

Computer finally was repaired and came back with two new faults.

Spoke to the elusive Christine at last, still in love this end but so is she, with someone else. 32 years and still no real progress on that front.

I have got two new quizzes online this week though so at least I can get something right

A definate highlight of the last few weeks is the preparation for Christmas. I know that this year is going to be hard for me, Mum and our family, but Christmas has always been my favourite time of year. So all the presents are wrapped, and also our real Christmas tree is up, and, as usual, it looks beautiful We get a fresh tree each year.
Another highlight is reaching nine stone
