TV newsflash - Australia has lost another legendary figure.

Apparently it has just been confirmed that Peter Brock died a short while ago in a car crash here in Perth.

He was competing in some sort of rally at Gidgegannup (not far from where I live).

Brocky was a champion whose long career had many highlight. He was known as the King of the Mountain because of his record at the Bathurst track- he won NINE times there, at one of the toughest touring car races in the world.

His full list of achievements can be seen here.

A major loss to the car-racing industry and to Australians as a whole.

Wow...It has been a very sad week here in the Land of Oz...

RIP Steve Irwin.
RIP Peter Brock.

I sure hope that this time, it doesn't happen in threes...

Heard the news 1 hour ago and really couldn`t believe it till I saw it on the news. Brock was as gutsy an Aussie as they come and his death will no doubt cause sadness Australia wide. I`ll be turning over a glass for him with a few mates tomorrow night.
