Speed dating on a train! BBC News

Interesting article, it is probably true about people getting chatted up on trains, I certainly got two boyfriends from the train when I was young, problem was that it was the same route so when I stopped 'seeing' one, I used to still see him on the train.

Anyone else meet boy/girl friends on trains or other forms of travel?

I met a lovely girl when we were both 10 on a flight to Edinburgh. We wrote to each other for a while but living 30 miles from me we never actually met up again. That was probably the first and last time and it would be nice to know what she's doing but has the sort of name that would turn up hundreds of entries on friends reunited.

I met a couple more at university interviews, but with the first I actually did all the 'work' (ie getting to know her) on the train from Guildford to London and the Northern Line on our way home and I saw her a couple of times but she lived about 70 miles away which didn't make for an ideal situation. The next one seemed a lot friendlier but she lived in Birmingham and I wasn't going down that track yet again, which was a shame as I saw potential.
