I am slightly, no make that very, bemused to see that a man has been threatened with arrest by the police if he doesn't remove a garden gnome from his property. Some people have no sense of humour.

I certainly hope so, agony. But even if the gnome was purchased with intent to harass the neighbor...exactly how could a garden gnome accomplish that, and WHY?

Yes, it certainly seems there must be more to it. At least, I hope the police there aren't in the habit of delivering notices like that at near midnight!
What does the thing do, make siren noises or something? Spout insults about the police when one walks by? I can't see how it could be intimidating. Tacky and somewhat annoying, perhaps...

Perhaps the clue is that his next door neighbour is a former policeman and the gnome is in a policeman's uniform. I think it is merely a light.
