Well....

Steve Martin was so funny I was afraid I'd wake my kids up laughing so loud. Every single joke was a hoot. I thought I'd die when he made the crack about Russell Crowe hitting on Ellen Burstyn!

Hi-lights for me:

Best speech of the night goes to Steven Soderbergh. I love what he said and I was thrilled for his winning. Traffic really is a ground-breaking and phenomenal film. He deserved it.

Very, very, very happy that Cameron Crowe and Steve (sp) Galian won for their screenplays...Cameron for Almost Famous and Steve for Traffic.

Benicio Del Toro absolutly deserved his Oscar and I was thrilled for him. His role in Traffic was just amazing.

I thought Julia talked too long and rambled and was too un-focused. It was cute for a minute, but then it got old. She knew she'd win and she should have prepared something ahead of time.

I was very happy for Russell Crowe. His performance was superb in Gladiato, was just excellent, and he also deserved his award. I saw Castaway and yes, Tom was great as usual, but when you compare the two performances I think the award was more deserved by Russell. I liked his speech too.

Extremely happy for Marcia Gay Harden. I love it when an underdog takes one. She's very appealing in all her movies. I love the fact that she named her daughter Eulala!
Yep, just like it looks...ooo-la-la! I think that's cool. She was in In Style magazine a couple months ago showing her little cabin house that she and her husband built...just beautiful. I liked her speech alot too.

I felt bad for Ridley Scott. How can your film win all those awards and Best Picture and the director not win for Best Director? I thought if Steven won for Traffic that Traffic would win Best Picture....but no. I bet Ridley Scott was a little pissed about that. Gladiator was a great, great, great movie and I loved it....but Traffic was better. I guess that's a tough call all the way around.

Bjork. I think her voice is really cool. I like the way she sounds...but I didn't like the song. I was happy "Things Have Changed" won. Bob Dylan didn't give a great performance of it last night, but if you hear the song on the soundtrack it really is a great song.

I was happy for Ang Lee and his whole group of winners last night. I like his movies...The Ice Storm especially...I still haven't seen Crouching Tiger, (it's the only Best Picture nom that I missed), but I'll see it eventually.

Well, I think that's about it for my review. Overall it was kind of a bland show. Usually every year I cry along with or for someone, but not last night. There were no really moving speeches or tributes. The show felt emotionally empty. Too bad.

As for Fashion:

Without a doubt Marcia Gay Harden was the most beautiful woman there last night. She's the one who won for Best Supporting Actress for "Pollack". She was stunning. Her dress, hair, and make-up were just gorgeous.

Rita Wilson looked beautiful. Again, dress, hair and make-up all were perfect.

Others who looked really good:
Catherine Zeta-Jones, Julia Roberts, Judi Dench, Frances McDormand, Halle Berry, Penelope Cruz, Ellen Burstyn, Julia Stiles, and all the beautiful women that were there with the Crouching Tiger group.

I didn't like Winona Ryder's hair. She looks best with her little short cut.

I thought Ashley Judd's dress was pretty, but I hated her hair pasted to her head...her ears stuck out a mile.

I thought Joan Allen looked too made-up and too "rock-n-roll" for her age.

I thought Kate Hudson's hair was nice, but I didn't like her dress that well.

I didn't like Sigourney's dress at all. Nor Hilary Swank's.

Hated Juliette Binoche's flapper look. When she won for English Patient she came in there in a stunning dress and perfect hair, etc...so I guess she figures she's proven she can do the whole fashion thing.

I thought Angelina Jolie looked better than usual, but also really plain...nothing stood out...she was just all white and no splash anywhere.

I hated Jennifer Lopez's hair, but I thought her dress was beautiful.

For the men...I like Sam Jackson's long jacket...so cool.

I thought Steve Martin was quite funny; the crack at Russell Crowe was very funny.
As for the awards, I don't think Gladiator was the best picture. My vote was for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

I like it that Julie Roberts won. If anyone from Gladiator won, it should have been Joaquin Phoenix. I was pulling Dame Judi Dench too.

As for clothes:

Best animal: Bjork
Best male: Joaquin Phoenix
Best female: Goldie Hawn
