Well, you make your hot chocolate the regular way (we use the powdered stuff and boiling water) and add a flavoured tea bag at the same time. My daughter made it for me and I flipped. I tried making it myself and I didn't let the tea bag steep long enough, so while good, it wasn't nearly as wonderful. Apparently you have to let it steep longer because it's a thicker fluid than just plain boiling water, plus you really want the flavour to pop. Be warned, it is very addicting!

Thanks skunkee. Will have to go and find some nice berry (I hope cherry) tea and give it a try. Will keep you posted.

Clarasue strikes again! You always come up with really cool offbeat things for me to go out and hunt. Last year it was that Annie Oakley scent which was so terrific. Now tell me where to find this sage blackberry substance. If I have to go to San Diego or Carmel - well I guess there are worse fates. Perhaps this is something that can be found outside California this time -I hope? Or maybe you can bring some when you come into town this summer.

My mom swears by Republic of Tea, but we can't get it here, so my dad always has to pick some up for her when he's in Denver... But it looks like you can order it from their website. That's not as fun as hunting through your local specialty grocer.

Black Dilmah tea is my perfect poison. Unlike most other teas, it doesn't become bitter after only a few minutes of steeping. I steep it FOREVER and drink it when it's strong enough to kill neurons. I wouldn't dream of masking the flavor with milk or sugar. I drink it black! It's pretty much the only liquid I ingest on a regular basis.
Rooibus tea is excellent, too. I hated it the first time I had it, though.
Recently, someone gave me a box of Special Gunpowder tea. Weird, eh? Sadly, there's no gunpowder in it. It's green tea with a rather... intriguing flavor.

I tend to go for a nice strong cup of Assam. I usually buy the supermarket's own brand, since I don't think there is any difference between the supermarket Assam and Twining's at twice the price.
I haven't explored the flavoured teas much: I prefer tea that tastes of tea to tea that tastes of bergamot or whatever. However, I used to drink "Egyptian" mint tea quite a bit at one time, when it was sold in one of the shops in my local London market.

I like the idea of tea and hot chocolate. Today I tried a few experiments. 1. Tea and black coffee. Yeccchhhhh! Terrible! 2. Lipton iced tea and beer. Interesting but I don't think I'll try it again. 3. Lipton iced tea and ginger ale. Now that was a winner. I'll wait until the weather warms up a bit and give it another go.

Two teas I don't think anyone has mentioned yet: lemongrass and chai. Chai has a lot of Indian spices in it, and is served strong and sweet, with milk. Lemongrass makes a lemony tea that is good iced or hot. I like to sweeten it, too.

Kate, I'd love to bring some to you when I get your way, but I'll send you some first. PM me your address and I'll get some in the mail.
