I think there must be technical issues with the poll. You are allowed to vote more than once.

Yes, it seems to be linked to IP addresses so if you have one those ISPs who swap your IP address about then you can vote more than once. Other people for the same reason cannot vote, someone else on their IP address has already voted. Never mind, it is only a guide. I have been copying the latest results so that people who cannot view the results can do so.

I'm technically British, but I prefer to say that I'm Irish. I come from Northern Ireland so I can decide!

Actually the whole of Ireland is within the British Isles, it is just not part of Great Britain. Just place yourself in with the rest of Europe if you want, not a problem.

Having been born in Halifax and with a daughter living in Sheffield and a sister with a holiday cottage in Herriot's village I guess that I ought to have given it a slot of its own.

About the IP thing... most university servers keep rotating/switching theirs, it's not a constant, so if you're logging in from there that could be it.
