The Canadians might have a bit of an advantage there. We seem to get it all - British and American

And Canadian too, eh? I do so love that Canadian accent. One of my faves. By the way, interesting that so many countries refer to Americans as "Yanks" - I think Americans living south of Maryland might take a bit of offense to that!

Well, just to clear things up a little.....Canadians do NOT, repeat, NOT have an accent. You're just listening funny.

mjmeggie please don't put a reply to each person, most of us don't read the forums in 'threaded' mode so we are seeing six posts from you one under the other. Just reply once clicking on the last post then if you want to address several people just put it all in the one post.

Many thanks.

Sorry, Sue......I'm still not sure how to do things, though I hope I'll get it. I'll try to remember.

I'm Irish (Dublin), but wouldn't consider myself British...

I hadn't seen the poll before either, so added my vote for Australia... and by the way, most Aussies are quiet, shy, retiring people... just not the ones who are FT regulars !
