I'm very surprised by these results actually.

I'm male and in the prime of my life (36 years), Belgian and a little bit possessed by quizzing. But here in Belgium, we have a very active quizzing circuit during the weekends. I'm founder of a team, and every friday and saturday we play quizzes with our team against other teams in Belgium.
To give you an exemple: we organize a quiz ourselves, we did it last friday and we had in total 110 teams of 6 players competing against eachother!
Every weekend there are more or less 20 venues in Belgium where a quiz is being organised, and there is an official ranking of the teams (similar to the ATP ranking)

The thing that surprises me about this poll is that in Belgium, you only have 10% of active playing females in this competition. But then again, maybe it's fine like this, because the wife doesn't mind me sitting in a room with mostly guy's from 40 or older ;-)

I am wondering what people go and do at age 61 that is so much more interesting than Fun Trivia! Please tell me, I'm worried I'm going to miss out on something.......

Also, I would have said, from my impression up to date, that this site was more male orientated -I was just so wrong!

I don't know the mix on the main site, it could just be that we females post more in the forums. On the other hand, our most prolific poster is definitely a man.

Men just don't have the time to sit around all day doing quizzes!

You know... I home-schooled my youngest child... and if I were young enough to have to be doing that again... I think I would include FT as part of a curriculum! The fact that there are so many in the "13-20" age group is what got me thinking about it... What a wonderful way to broaden a child's interests, and encourage curiosity!

I fall under the younger group amazing how many of us play. Unfortunatly there is not as large number of males that i had expected.

I found the results very interesting indeed .I was surprised at the ratio of Males to Females (35% to 65%) .Maybe this is a good place to pick up women .(No harm in wishing ,is there ? ) I fall in the most populous age group 41-50 (for a year or so) ,so yet again ,I find myself to be Mr. Average .

As long as you like pensioners ..........or women with more opinion than knowledge .......... Look at the main female posters on these forums - are they young, attractive, intelligent women? ummmm nope!

mmmm, delboy, maybe you should check out the FunTrivia scrapbook. I see that there are plenty of attractive, intelligent women there. Just because we're not all young doesn't mean we don't have feelings. What a rude thing to say!

It would be interesting to see how the poll will change this year as so many FTers turned 50 (and a couple of 60's) last year. You know 1957 was a good year!
