Gee Sue I'm hurt, I still post although very rarely. I've been here since almost the beginning. Oh well, I guess I'm just too quiet for my own good. Happy Birthday and many more

Ooops. Sorry, I will correct it now - and check the registrations to see what happened.

I expected the second pair to be early 2000 but I've seen entries in the guestbook and encyclopedia from Griffn655 before then, but clearly didn't register in the forums till a bit later. I am fascinated by the wayback machine and it's a shame it hasn't got an even wider coverage as there are quite a few huge gaps in it. If I spot anything else interesting there I'll pass it on!

It looks really interesting, the wayback machine. I'll have a good look at it...am interested of how it used to be

My account was created in June 2000.
Though I don't post like I used to, I still browse the forums as well as play quizzes in Quizzyland.

Although I don't post as often as I did, I've made some wonderful friends here since I joined way back in 2004! smile In fact "Funtrivia forums" were the first website I "joined" when I got the Internet at home!

Me too. For the handful of people who haven't heard the story I began using the internet in 1996/7 in the library and anywhere else I could scrounge it, and one day I got home and the neighbour I did accounts for had delivered an ancient PC and installed it where I am sitting now so I could do them here instead of his tiny shed. I got an AOL free trial, they suggested an email address based on the one I chose which was taken, and used it here the first moment I logged on the internet to ask all the questions remaining on my list. It's still my second family 15 years on.

I still have the letter from my first ISP giving me the details of my account with them and instructions on how to use the Internet. The letter is dated 9th December 1994. At that stage I didn't even have Windows, that would be the original version with no number although soon I did get my PC upgraded to 4mb RAM from 2mb so that I could have Windows installed. smile

Another "old-timer" here, though I'm not here since the absolute beginning.
I used to play a trivia game on mIRC (if anyone remembers that old dinosaur), and stumbled onto FunTrivia while researching something for there, probably sometime around 2000 when I was living in Belgium. I created an account at some stage, but when I came back in 2003 to investigate more regularly I had to open another account for myself as I had forgotten my login name and password. There was more than likely a "Santana" in there somewhere, but I'm damned if I can remember what it was.

Originally I got totally hooked on playing chain games with some other similarly obsessed individuals (ElfTwinkle, Gatsby :(, ASA,) to name but a few, then got roped into playing Puzzle Donkey, and over the years since I have been here regularly, though often to read rather than to post. Took me until this year to sign up for Gold membership, and all of a sudden the quiz side of the site has become a whole lot more addictive laugh

I forgot to mention that I joined the "quizzing side" of Funtrivia about a year before joining her. I'm not entirely sure how I found Funtrivia, but I know I used to access it through the local library computers. I remember browsing the forums before I was a member and noticing how much a member Gunslinger meant to the members here. Like Santana I was quickly drawn into the chain games and spent many happy hours "tagging" other members laugh

I came in back in late February 2001 (was working at a Gateway Country store at the time), and was so slow I needed to find something to keep my mind occupied. I signed up on the quiz side then, but didn't come to the Forums until late summer 2003 (signed up in October 2003 right after we lost Gunslinger - one of my posts in that thread was my very first post). Now, after nearly 12 years on this side, I've posted over 20,000 on various things (mainly chains and the Tipping Competitions (of which anyone is welcome to join both lol, some of us prefer ones would sign up for the latter lol)).

Been here pretty much from the beginning, when the forums first opened. There weren't many sections and I asked Terry, if there would be a Games section. Sure - you want to run it....ok. Never thought I would still be visiting the same site after all these years. I've met quite a few members and made some great friends..all because of this site.
May FT continue for another couple of decades !!

Snake!

For those who do not know what I am talking about, Joe started this game and we each had a time slot in which to play our turn. I can remember cutting short an evening out so as to get home in time to play. The game was called snake, I am not calling Joe a snake. smile

Yes, we were just as addicted as Chain players are today. A snake game that stands out in my mind is the dinosaur one. I went to the library to get a list of different ones.
The short time for your time slot made the knees knock in terror.

Snake lasted for 75 weeks !! Even managed to keep the game running when I was on holiday in Australia.....Internet cafes came in very handy as smartphones were not around at the time.

I went to the Way back machine and found my first entry in the guest book.

I really enjoy the games on this site, especially cosmo(trivia fun for all) the people to chat to are so friendly. I went in for the weekly comp for fun I dont have a hope of winning with all those trying for it! thanks for a great site. Ren
