this one might just be for the ladies, but men can respond too, of course. do you have a favoirte "chick flick"? maybe it's a weepy love story, or a movie with an all female cast? i have a few: "now and then"--all about 4 childhood friends who have a reunion of sorts. the film consists largely of flashbacks, and tells the story of what each one grew up to be, etc. "the first wive's club"--i thought this movie was hilarious. "hanging up"--3 sisters dealing with their father and each other. funny, and touching. "a league of their own"--baseball movie told from the female perspective. and, in my opinion, the ultimate "chick flick": "thelma and louise". i don't know of any guy who has ever admitted to liking this movie. my husband and my brother both say it belittles the male gender and puts them in a bad light. and to that i always respond "so?" LOL!!! anyone else have any favorites?

Not much of a one for chick flicks I'm afraid Generally I enjoy a comedy or "mild" action (like "The Matrix" - an action movie with an interesting plot, not just "shoot everything that moves"!). But there are some chick flicks that I enjoyed immensely! "A League of their Own" for certs, and "Pretty Woman" if you can consider it a chick flick. I do.

What?!! No one has mentioned "How to make an American Quilt?" and does anyone remember "Splendour in the Grass" with a very young Warren Beatty and Natalie Wood - I sobbed for days after that one.

BEACHES!!! how in the world could i have forgotten to put beaches on my list? a friend of mine had to have an operaton a couple of years ago, and while she was recovering at home, she asked me to bring beaches over. we watched it and both had a good cry, even though we had both seen it many, many times. what a great chick flick.

Okay, I'm gonna have to go with "Pretty Woman", "Notting Hill" and "My Best Friend's Wedding". hmm...funny...they all have Julia Roberts in them, don't they? I'm a sucker for a pretty girl.

I don't know if it qualifies as a chick flick or not but how about PRACTICAL MAGIC. That is a good film.

That totally qualifies as a chick flick usually we think romantic comedy when we think chick flick, but movies about girls can be them too

How about "Bull Durham"? This works as a chick flick AND a guy flick. The best of both worlds! Jerry
