Okay all "Lost" fans, next week starts the third season of this fantastic show.

At the end of Season Two's finale, we were left to ponder the fate of Eco, Charlie, Desmond and Locke in the Swan Hatch. We were left to wonder what Mr. Friendly (a.k.a. Tom and Zeke), Miss Clugh and the Others want with Jack, Sawyer and Kate.

Why was Hurley let go?

Does Michael really think that the Others will let him and Walt leave? Um...don't think so!

When the Hatch imploded, the sky turned pinkish and the noise was so loud that everyone was covering their ears. What was this about?

What is going to happen to Sayid, Jin and Sun? Will Rousseau be seen more in this season?

Questions, questions, questions...

Well well. I'm really excited about the 3rd season.

I think Hurley was let go for the reasons they said he was. Just to go back and tell his friends to back off.

I don't think so either. Also, I heard this interesting theory that Walt wasn't actually on the boat, that it was just a projection of him, like what Shannon and Sayid saw. Because why would the others give up a boy with powers just for three people?? I don't know .. seems fishy or something.

I just assumed it was the effects of the whole magnetic thing?

Dunno. But I heard Desmond is going to be a regular. And that's something to cheer about!

The main thing that I like about "LOST" is that they give us just a little bit, and then they give us tons of questions!

I do think that Walt is really on the boat with Michael, but I get this feeling that he is only going to circle the Island, and end up just like Desmond...back with the rest of the survivors from Oceanic 815.

I have a feeling that Sayid, Jin, and Sun are not going to just stay where they are without trying to find Jack, Kate, Hurly and Sawyer...I mean Sayid KNOWS that Michael was setting them up...so yes, Sayid and company will go looking for them.

Have to feel just a bit sorry for er um Henry Gale, when Sayid finds him and the rest of the others.

The survivors are not just going to take it lying down.

Well, well. Can't wait for the new season either. Lots of questions. I want to know what the statue (or lackthereof) is all about. What has that got to do with anything so far? Obviously, something, but what?

I didn't even think about Walt only being a projection. But for some reason, I do believe that "Henry" is going to hold up the bargain, and that it really is Walt on the boat. But the question at that point, is the island in some sort of snow globe, as Desmond put it? Maybe the Others know the Michael and Walt won't be able to ever get back to Fiji or anywhere other than the island.

I agree about Hurley. I think that Hurley doesn't have much bargaining power, but Jack, Kate, and Sawyer definitely do. Maybe it will be for some sort of trade, but I don't know what the Others could possibly want, except perhaps Sun's unborn child.

Speaking of Sun, I know I'm still going back and forth between if it's Jin's child or maybe the hotel manager's son. Sun had a look on her face after she told Jin she has been faithful to him that was unreadable, so I don't know. I think she has (and I don't think that LOST is the kind of show that would have something like that in the plotline), but I'm still not sure. Yes, Jin was sterile before the plane crash, but as we've seen, the island can miraculously heal. I'm leaning a lot toward the baby being Jin's because of that reason, but I can't shake the other feeling.

Is Season 3 here yet??

Ooh! I'm excited! My obsession with this show has toned down a bit but I'm still VERY interested in where it's going. I also like the fact that they're only showing first-run episodes! Yay!

Okay, okay...let's talk about "LOST". Dang! I was dumbfounded by what I saw in the first show of the third season! Oh my God! Oh my God!

The "Others", if that is what they are have lived on the Island for quite sometime..Did Dharma create the little housing community in which they live? Or did the "Others" build it themeselves?

How dare the "Others" treat Sawyer as if he were a dog! Definitely should not be doing that! And who was that kid they had in the cage across from Sawyer? And what the heck is up with Jack being underwater?!

As "Henry Gale"/Ben said to Kate, he wanted her to experience something nice, because the next weeks are going to very hard...after the two weeks, will the "Others" let Jack, Kate and Sawyer go back to the other survivors?

And how is that the survivors from the tail-end (while travelling back to "our" survivors) never came across the "Others" housing community? And why didn't "our" survivors find it as well..with all the searching they have done on the Island?

Oh heck! I cannot wait for next week!!

The girl Jack was with (Juliette maybe??) said they were in a Dharma station. I forgot what she called it, but I saw a sign somewhere.

I thought the episode was kind of boring. Jack-centric-ness bores me. But I am very excited about next week!!

I think she said the name of the hatch/station was "Hydra", which would make sense if they were underwater. That was interesting to see how the "Others" were really living. Now a big question, though, is why the "Others" just invite the survivors to live with them? I know it wouldn't have made such an interesting show that it is, but I still wonder. Why are they acting as they are? Maybe the "sickness" that Rousseau is talking about? Speaking of Rousseau, if she's been on the island for 16 years, shouldn't she have known about that little housing development? It seems like it would be pretty hard to miss.

I assume she does know about it, but likes to keep her secrets. As for why they don't just invite the survivors to stay, well I assume they're doing, or will be doing experiments on Kate, Jack, and Sawyer so they probably thought, obviously, that those three wouldn't do it willingly.

I don't know if I'm interrupting or not, but I'd just like to say that I'm a huge LOST fan too. We're currently seeing Season 2 and we're due to watch 2x19 : SOS this week. Frankly I've been baffled, amazed, riveted and shocked whenever I've watched Lost. I do believe that it's the best show in television today.

I just read through the Lost : Season 2 thread and dare I admit it, I think Ana-Lucia is quite cool..er..

Let's see if I can answer any of the following questions or perhaps shed some more light....

The "Others", if that is what they are have lived on the Island for quite sometime..Did Dharma create the little housing community in which they live? Or did the "Others" build it themeselves?

I believe the others built it after Dharma left because of what the girl said (the one guarding Jack). When asked by Jack if she was with Dharma, she mentioned that they were what was left.

And how is that the survivors from the tail-end (while travelling back to "our" survivors) never came across the "Others" housing community? And why didn't "our" survivors find it as well..with all the searching they have done on the Island?

When you watch the opening and the camera pans back from the camp to show the entire island, you will notice the smoke plumes from the two pieces of the aircraft. These smoke plumes are at either end of the island by at the top (North). The camp is well placed South. Now if you remember back in Season 1, Sayid decided to leave the camp and follow the coastline but his journey was interupted when he came across the wire which lead him to the French Woman, which means he never went further enough. The Tail-end survivors never found the others camp because they travelled in a straight line. The last part to that question is that 'Our' Survivors have not really explored much of the island because Locke was too damn interested in the hatch and once that was opened, they never bothered to go any further.

I'm not sure if the "Others" built the community after Dharma left or not, but based on the line of "we're what's left", I think those people were Dharma "employees" or whatever that probably got to be in the hatches. At least that's my theory. But then, why didn't they leave? It seems as if Henry/Ben knew how to get out of the island "snow globe", assuming he wasn't tricking Michael.

I'm really enjoying the season so far, but I'm sad because I know that there are only four more episodes left until a MASSIVE break. In some ways, I would have preferred if they had filmed all episodes before airing the season premiere. I know, that would make the season premiere in January or something, but 24 does it. I already hate waiting this lengthy amount of time to see the rest of the Lost season.

Does anyone here find Julliet more creepy then Ben? And I'm dying to know how Locke, Eko, abd Desmond somehow survived the destruction of the Swan? I can't wait for the next episode. Only 1.5 days away.

Oh, no. How big of a break is there going to be? We can't have that already .

I wonder if it has to do with the earthquake that happened over there???

And yes, I think Juliet (sp?) is going to be more creepy than Ben. Especially considering she is so nice to Jack, trying to earn his trust (a ploy, maybe, for a sinister purpose??), and then she had the "look" that told Sawyer that she would have indeed killed Kate if he didn't stop his escape attempt. Can we say Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde?

After the Nov 8th show, Lost won't be back until February... then the show will run for 16 solid weeks. I think it was a smart move on their part, because many viewers (myself included) are getting a bit tired of the storyline this season. It's getting a bit tired. I feel like we haven't we seen much and the shows been on for a month. Its just missing that intensity from the first two seasons.

I have not read every post in this thread, yet, but I wanted to chime in a small theory I have.

I think there are 2 Juliets. One of them has longer hair than the other. They even had almost identical shirts on in the season premier, but not quite.

Benry and his spinal tumor, should Jack save him or let him go? My mom seems to think they do not age, but that doesn't make sense. I think they're cloning themselves possibly OR the island's made them sterile somehow and they need children... not sure exactly. Now we know the Hydra is on a different island than our main island, so maybe the two have different abilities?

I look forward to the 17 straight weeks of new shows, and do not mind waiting until Feb 7th for the return.

I don't think there are two Juliets; I think it is just the one. The shirt difference would then be attributed to filming errors/differences.

As for last night's episode, I don't know what to think. Call me crazy, but Ben really hasn't lied much. Yes, he lied about who he was when he was on "our" side of the island, but if I were in that situation, I might too. Ben had a good point when he made his defense about Jack "releasing" Sayid on Ben if Ben admitted he was an "Other". As for Sawyer, Ben did fib, but I wouldn't say it was an outright lie. I know I sound like I'm defending him, but I really don't think he deserves to necessarily die. I think he has been totally honest with Jack. So then that brings up Juliet. I think she's been honest with Jack too. I think she may even like Jack somewhat. But it could just be an act to get whatever she wants. I think Juliet may have an ulterior motive, but I really don't know what. If she has a mean streak (like when Sawyer said she would have killed Kate in that escape attempt), I think she is the one that has the ulterior motive. For some reason, she wants to kill Ben. Another thing is that she told Jack in the video to ignore everything she was saying, but when she was talking about Ben being a nice guy and such, she also brought up the fact that she needs Jack to trust her.................Of course, with the show the way it is, I could be totally wrong, but it's just what I think right now.

I am not 100% sure about 2 Juliets either. I may have changed my mind on that after the last episode. But, I do think SHE is the dangerous one, not Ben. She is very cold and calculating. Look at the length she went to in order to get Jack to trust her. Ben already hinted to Jack about Juliet's presence, looking like Sarah. I think her desire to kill off Ben, whom I believe to be her brother, is because Ben stands in her way of what she wants. And, I think what she wants is NOT peace and harmony....

Wendy

I'll miss Eko, a lot, but I'm glad he's at peace now.

Yeah, I was wondering about the similarity. When I first saw her, I thought it was Sarah on the island somehow for some reason. Boy, this show is great! It give you so many mysteries, and only a few answers at a time. It's frustrating, but in a good way.

Well, all I can say is, I'm so unhappy that Eko's gone. He was one of my favorite characters. When are the writers going to see the light and kill off Kate? I'd be so happy if that character was killed.

She has got to be the most irritating character of the entire cast. She is not likeable in any way, shape, or form, and she is incredibly annoying at all times. Plus, she's always walking around with this look on her face that makes her look constipated. Basically, something about her really bugs me and I would be thrilled if they got rid of her. This is nothing against Evangeline Lilly, the actress who plays Kate. I just really can't stand Kate!

"Lost" will be back in February...I can't wait.

I think that there are two sets of "Others"...the Dharma Others and the "Native Others". The Native Others are the ones who were born on the island and never had any contact with civilization until the Dharma people came. I think for the most part that the Native Others killed most of, but not all of, the Dharma Others, and took over some of the hatches.

That's my theory...at least for now!

I think the little mini-season we just viewed is a wonderful set-up to the 17 consecutive week run in Feb. I cant wait. I think the wait will be worth it. I think several HUGE changes are coming for the show. One complaint..I really wish they would have kept EKO. He was a great character and could have been the "bodyguard" of our group.

Oh I agree! I cannot wait for our 17 straight weeks! I also mis Eko, I had a mad crush on him. That accent drives me crazy! But, the actor wanted out of the show, so they let him out.
