Hello

My name is Fieneke and I live in the Netherlands. I am the tournament host of "Fred's World" since August 2005 and just like all of you I like to play the Trivia, even when it is hard for me sometimes, because all the questions are written in English! I sometimes don't know some words and then it is hard to answer, but we have a great group of friends and always a lot of fun with playing.

I got today a problem with the "shout out box" and need some people to help me. That is why I (after such a long time), joined today this forum and I hope that you can help me.

With kind regards
Fieneke from the Netherlands

Welcome to the Forums Fieneke

I think you should've posted your question/problem in the "Feedback" section - it's the last one on the main page of the Forums (under Administration).

Denni is correct, the Feedback forum is the best place to ask questions about the site but as I see that you've already posted there also I'll leave this one here and it can allow people to say hello.

If you have time to look around the forums you may find some threads of interest

Thank you all very much for the welcome wishes.

I saw one of the administrators responded my message for help at the administration forum and I will mail him or her , not sure yet if it is a Mister or Mrs!

I hope my problem can be solved!

Hi Fieneke! Welcome. You should be proud of your marvellous English! You should hear me try to speak Dutch! In fact , I never met anyone from the Netherlands who didn't speak English really well. Have fun here.

Thank you for this compliment Ren33! At the Senior General Secondary Education school I learned English for 5 years, but that was ....uuuuhhh 30-35 years ago!

Since we got our computers and internet connection now about 5 years ago,I started to visit a message board in the USA and was "forced" to read and type English again! .....As you can imagine I couldn't do much without my dictionary in the beginning. During all these years I met a LOT of wonderful people from over the world who became friends and I post and read on 2 message boards almost every day. So I am glad that after all these years, I almost don't need my dictionary anymore.

I was posting a private message to Terry today and then I saw the words "I want to receive a read receipt" under the part I wrote the message. I can put there a V or not!

Can somebody explain to me what that means? I have been on message boards before, but this one is different and with other possibilties, so I have to get used to it!

From limited knowledge Fienke that would be a notification sent automatically to you when the message was read.
Hope this helps
