Oh panic not, it isn't really closing for a week. BUT, if it did, and you had advanced notice that it would happen as opposed to the site going down and that it could be back any minute (we all know what happens then, we check in every three minutes!), what would you do in that week?

I'd do a lot of reading - and I might actually get some writing done!

If we had advance notice, we could swap e mail addresses!
Once or twice it happened, but only for a few hours...I remember getting e mail from people trying to find out if they'd done something stupid to their computers or what!

I also remember we used to joke about world productivity at the office going up.

Get some sleep, read and continue to prattle away on MSN.
I know my world would probably fall apart for a week, but I might get some other stuff done.

I'd probably spring-clean my house. It really needs it and I'm always postponing the job because the computer is just too addictive.

I would probably write a few more quizzes in MS Word.. I have several in the "Hmm, that sounds like a good idea for a quiz" stage, but I seem to spend too much time playing everyone else's!

I would catch up on house work and get some other things done, plus I would suffer for that whole week.

Advance notice would be great, because then I could work extra hard to earn more points before it went down so that I wouldn't feel that I was missing as much.

If the site closes down for a week from tomorrow, it wouldn't bother me as I'm off to the Canary Islands for a week's holiday!

We will wait until you get back then.

Enjoy yourself, I am fairly partial to Tenerife although I have also been to Gran Canaria.

I think a few people had heart failure or palpitations at least when they saw the topic title.

lol I'd craft. Knit, crochet, sew, make jewelry... Then I'd probably read some too. But I always get more crafting done when I manage to tear myself away from the computer for extended periods.

How do you spell

W-I-T-H-D-R-A-W-A-L

S-Y-M-P-T-O-M-S

I'd probably have to take up drugs, alcohol, tobacco and painted women to cope. What good is life without an hourly FunTrivia fix?

I'd probably re-acquaint myself with a couple of online trivia rooms I haven't been to since coming here.

Um, as much as I have enjoyed (and will again in the future) FunTriva.com it would really be only a slight hiccup in my online existence at this point in time if it closed down for a week.
I found Second Life recently and am practically living there. I`m enjoying it so much that I`m thinking about buying some land and opening up a niteclub . If I do it`s going to be called `The Insane Asylum`, visit me someday if you like and say hi to my alter ego `Insane Ostrich`.

I don't have as much time for FT as I used to, but I really look forward to spending at least a half hour here every day, unwinding in a familiar, beloved setting. I have made real friends here, too, who I actually think of even when I am not online. I must confess, when I was in Manhattan on business recently, I was fine without FT for the first three days, and too busy to really miss it, but come day four, I was burned out and really just wanted to lock myself in my hotel room and just hang out at the site. I think of FT (and the Guild board) as welcoming, comfortable place to visit more than an addiction. But if it shut down for a week, or even less, I would miss it terribly.
