I've heard of Vegemite, but since it's not sold in America, I've never tried it.

I am starting a Marmite Cheerleaders Team. We will be wearing little yellow hats and we have nose pegs (see other thread.) I need a Marching Song. Lyrics anyone?

I would seriously like to try Vegemite, but if it is not sold here in the good old USA, that seems impossible. I also have to ask, if we do not sell it, why would we be banning it?? Are there a lot of mysterious deaths from this stuff that you are all not telling those of us who are Vegemite Virgins? Just kidding about the deaths, but you sure have piqued my curiosity about it. I guess I'll have to find a way to get to your part of the world, but by the time I have enough money to do so I will probably forget what I wanted to try in the first place! Seriously, if anyone knows how I can get some shipped to me, please let me know. Sandy

I can send you some Marmite which is far superior to the Australian pretender. I have some little portion pots and would be willing to send you one if you give me your postal details in a PM.

Well they sell it in my little part of the US! We have a shop called the "British Emporium." I believe they actually sell both Marmite and Vegemite. I know I've purchased some Vegemite to try. After that experience I haven't the urge to try Marmite...

There should be a world wide protest! ;p
I'm a happy little vegemite, always will be. I remember running home from school because I knew my mother would have the vegemite and saladas already on the table.

Marmite would go better lion! Marmite is the food of the Gods, and, thanks to a lovely quiz I did on here, I also know that the difference between them is that Vegemite has caramel in it!

Marmite was first, Vegemite is a poor imitation which they actually GAVE away in order to get people to use it.

Bearing in mind that that first taste is invariably their last and that expression you are seeing is almost certainly instant rigor mortis, I think that the least you can do is slap their pictures on bottles of vegemite as a warning to others. Vegemite v axle grease: no contest. Axle grease tastes better but is not nearly as effective at clogging up machinery, repairing cracked dams, scaring children, animals, extra terrestrial life forms, etc.
