Well, I sat here yesterday facing a most awkward dilemma indeed

. A brand new jar of Marmite to my left (
thank you, Sue
) and a bit of vegemite on my right. A "banquet on my desk", so to speak. This set-up left a taste taste unavoidable, then, don't you think?
So I washed my mouth out [to unsully the taste buds in any which direction] and dug in. I must say, first and foremost, the two don't taste
that much different, in my opinion. Both quite tasty, too, without a gulp of hesitation about it

.
My first thought was to say "They're both so perfectly delicious that I can't choose!" This would be the diplomatic thing to do but then I thought about those Oscar nominees who don't win and pipe up with that "It's a prize enough just to be nominated" business (and you just know, right, that what they're really thinking is: "Drat that beast who beat me! I deserved the award and, given the chance, I'd tackle them down and steal that award and run screaming joyously into the night with it!"). So, no such political schmoozing from this kid. No, sirree.
First to say, the "almost winner" has a
much better aftertaste (richer or something) but, as an overall dining experience, I whisper that my preference of the two if, God forbid entirely, I
HAD to choose, is *shhhh* Vegemite

.
Great. Now I've alienated the Europeans and have sided with the Aussies, I reckon? Will this get me banned from FT

? The battle rages.
I
really wouldn't have known the difference between the two, though, had I been blindfolded.....
As to the issue at hand, banning either (be it fact or fiction) would be nothing short of a dire injustice to we feeble Americans
