I have had a look around and this appear to be a site suitable for respectable women such as myself, one really cannot be too careful these days as there are some very strange people on this internet.

There are some strange people on this site as well, but we're generally harmless!
Welcome.

That is very kind of you my dear to come and welcome me.

I must say that some of the people here have some very strange names but then I suppose not too many of them are British, I see some are from our colonies overseas, and even ex-colonies. However I have heard excellent reports about the class of people you have here so I am sure they will be just fine even if not of the calibre of people I normally invite to my candlelit suppers.

Again thank you for your kind welcome. I am somewhat dismayed that none of the managerial staff have felt it necessary to be here to welcome me but I assume they will hurry along once they know that I have joined you.

Good evening to you, Hyacinth. Would you care for a seat in front of the fireplace or a table overlooking the garden?

Gracious me, such lovely people you have here. Northern Arkansas, dear me that is a little bit far to travel to one of my famous suppers but I assure you that if you lived a little closer then I would send you an invitation, such a kind person.

Now do tell me, is that a portrait of yourself? Only the very best people have portraits of themselves. I'm not quite sure about the rose between your teeth but then I suppose this might be the fashion in America. Decidedly odd.

Tut, a spelling mistake.

Why, yes - and I'm told it's an excellent likeness, plastic rose and all.

Enjoy the forums, Lady Hyacinth.

Oh wow, what an honour for us to have the pleasure of your company Hyacinth, I assume that I can call you Hyacinth. We don't stand on ceremony here.

May I introduce myself, I am an administrator here and can only apologise for not being around when you registered, very remiss of me.

Despite the rather odd names to which you have drawn attention, I can assure you that we have the very best class of members here, why I myself have shaken hands with the Princess Royal and have been invited to St James's Palace where us ladies were instructed to wear hats. I shall look forward to hearing about emminent people that you have met.

I am most pleased to Welcome you to the Friendlist place on the internet.
You will find a wonderful group here and you shall be a great influence on a few I am sure.

I see you have been Welcomed by my Friend Sue.She really has some VIP people in her address book and a wide and varying selection of Hats to compliment her wardrobe.
She would be a delightful guest at one of your candlelight suppers.

Also I know Ren shall be most excited to meet you and give you a Welcome. I shall let her introduce herself.

Must go feed the Kitties.
Welcome again.

How simply delightful to have a like minded person, someone who also cares about the maintenance of standards, posting in our humble little site! I am so very, very glad to welcome you my dear Mrs Bouquet.(I so admire your name, your outlook on life and your determination to improve the lives of those around you in this way. ) May your presence here long be recognised for the honour it brings. I have, of course, in my time, moved among the greats , both in the Theatre world and that of the Nobility, but naturally, could never attain the heights of your great achievements. I feel both flattered and so pleasantly surprised at your decision to grace our boards. Welcome indeed!!

Welcome M'lady and Thank You! for blessing us by bringing the radiant light of your being in our humble existences. If you need any help with lighting the candles for or washing dishes after those suppers....there I think I can compete

Well, I am pretty speechless in making your acquaintance, Miss Hyacinth. Lovely, quite that, to see the standards of this juke joint going up a notch or two . I beg your forgiveness, too, for being a bit late in welcoming you. Your introduction got me all nervous as to whether my tie was straight, trousers pressed, etc. I now feel adequately outfitted to say "Hello there" (and I'm mighty ready for supper!).

I would love to attend one of your candlelight suppers, it would be a hoot. Would I have to take my shoes off before entering though?

I am all of a fluster, such a welcome, but then one doesn't expect less.

cinnam0n, interesting name dear, tell me is cooking your forte?

Engadine, I do hope that you don't have a liking for alcoholic beverage like my brother-in-law Onslow.

JaneMarple, I am obviously in the company of class now, nice tiara dear.

sue943, I think the word pretentious comes to mind, claiming to have met royalty, humph.

lady1, how good to see a representative from South Africa, is it nice and warm there dear?

PurpleFan, disgusting, you remind me of my sister Rose, she also tends to wear her skirts a little on the short side but at least she wears knickers.

ren33, Fanling? Is that a form of dance that they do in Hong Kong? You mention your connection with the theatre so I guess you must be some sort of exotic dancer.

denni19, from Bucharest, how romantic, I think my Sheridan would love to visit Romania.

Gatsby722, now I spy a little M there, does this mean that you a member of the management? Supper, yes my dear man, you really must come to my next candlelit supper and bring that delightful kt person.

Copago, sorry laddie, you look a bit too young for my suppers but at least your mother seems to be bringing up correctly, thinking of removing your shoes dear boy, what a good lad.

As you have given me such a warm welcome I will have to have a little soiree and invite you all, barring the little hussie with the bare backside and her fan-dancing friend.

And yes, please remove your shoes and leave them at the door.
