I'm going to see a movie this weekend, and I have decided it'll be Cats and dogs. Am I right or am I wrong? Will I be wasting my cash? Would I be better eating popcorn at home watching the news?

I welcome your opinions....

My daugheter-in-law saw it twice and loved it. However, my vote would go to America's Sweethearts. You don't have to be an American to enjoy this one, just have a small idea of the crazy things that go on in Hollywood.

Just read a review about cats and dogs. Out of five stars it was given a mere 2. Said that once you get past the novelty of the the cats and dogs being able to talk (and fight, and use complex machinery, and have a sub-culture for thousands of years without humans knowing, etc.) then you see through to the not so original story.
But stuff that, I'm still going to see it.
And Rush Hour 2
And Final fantasy
Shame about Tomb raider

Vikan: It's not out here yet as far as I can see. There's a US/UK movie lag. We are a backwater.

Tas: Need something more upbeat.

Lava: Yep, I'm still going to see it anyway. What I was hoping was that everyone was going to tell me it was great. Looks like fun. I imagine I'll be assaulting the film in the same way the Guardian reviewer did, saying it was a piece of shameless anti-cat propaganda, but if it's fun then who cares??!!!

Cheers folks!

Just been to see it. Not bad, but certainly aimed at children, as opposed to the mixed bag of such as Shrek.

I got dragged to see this by my cousin today (she's old enough to know better but wanted to see it because she loves cats).

Good completely mindless nonsense - and how many movies have a villain called Mr Tinkles?

If you can deal with being in a cinema full of kids - I should have borrowed a couple really - then it's an enjoyably mindless way to pass an afternoon.

Personally though, if you've got to go and see one of the summer-holiday movies then I'd go for Shrek which has more in it for adults and older kids.
