Dull, isn't it?

If only for the crowd's sake they should have made them follow on.

The only interest is in whether Langer can get a ton tonight.

I actually turned on the ABC to watch lawn bowls!

Oh jesus - that is desperate. Been telling you for months to get pay TV

Actually I should have the ABC radio on for the commentary, would make it a bit more interesting. Kerry O'Keefe is still on their team I hope?

LOL

how good is it though that you can watch a day of Ashes cricket, then grab something to eat and have a stretch and then sit down for an evening of the Tri-Nations final? I love weekends like this.

Australia V England in cricket, Australia V Kiwis in League, and the Rah-Rahs V Scotland.

The only thing better than a trifecta would to be see Willie Mason get his block knocked off

Day four and England are making a go of it ... well as much as they can in the circumstances.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/cricket/england/6184772.stm is the BBC over by over update if you want a laugh.

1327: Will England make it to stumps? It would be nice to see KP and Flintoff teeing off for a session or so. Collingwood rocks back and upper-cuts Lee for six. Nice catch by one of the groundstaff! Someone get onto the British embassy and sort that man an English passport. 97-3

Lol . . . I just love the weather we've turned on for the 'tourists' . . . mmm, wonder if Adelaide's gonna turn on a scorcher just so we can 'roast' some more pommy cricketers . . . was interested to note that several of the 9 Commentary Team spouted forth with the comment that the 'Ashes' (piddly little trophy that it is) will NOT be leaving our shores this time around . . . would be just as it should be then, but I severely doubt it (even if they don't 'own' it, the poms'll wanna hang on to it)!

Bring on the action, mmm, Ricky's led out the Aussies, and here come the Poms (to the slaughter) . . . they're all saying only the rain'll save 'em . . . rain? What's rain? It's not gonna rain on the Aussie's parade today at the Gabba . . . well, not until late this arvo, anyway . . . then it'll be too little too late for the hapless poms!

C'mon Aussie, c'mon, c'mon . . .

The rot has started already! Peterson out in the first over...

The Pom's excuse that the Ashes trophy could get damaged in transit has to be the most ridiculous thing I have heard. Surely it could be left down here now- it would not have to move again for a long time..

Maybe Giles with his average of 20 can save it now?

On to Adelaide, I think!

Exactly! It's here now and should stay, seeing as how we've never had the pleasure of holding onto it before . . . when we rightfully should have . . .

Wow, 300 coming up for England, now all they need is their lower order to bat another 300+ (as if that'll happen) . . . mmm, haven't heard a peep outta the Barmy Army for days now . . . after they finished whinging about the 'Fun Police' at the Gabba . . .

Well, I'm listening to the radio commentary and there's been plenty of noise from the Barmy Army, though with nine wickets down and England 270-odd behind I don't know what they've got to sing about

Perhaps they should let the Barmy Army bat.. this mob obviously would be more at home in the stands.

Adelaide, here we come!

They're singing a dirge . . . RIP English Cricket . . . I think Ozz has the right idea . . . bung in the Barmy Army, at least we'd get a good laugh outta that!

A few small points, before you Aussies spontaneously combust!

* the Toss was huge in the context of how this game has panned out.

*I seem to recall you winning the first test over here in 2005 (I think you walloped us by 200 plus runs)

* we can improve enormously from the way we've played in this test - you can't.

On to Adelaide, indeed.

Erm, the Aussies can't improve? Mmm, think that needs reconsideration, there's plenty of room for improvement, we just need to go from stupendous to absotivelybloodyfantabulous and then we'll be walking on water as well as flogging the world at cricket!

Seriously tho', there is always room for improvement, even when you're almost 'perfect' . . .

C'mon Aussie c'mon, c'mon . . .

Further to Rog's list there are also maybe a couple niggly injuries to Ponting and McGrath to consider too.

England's second innings was so much better and on a worse pitch so there is hope there.

I just want both teams to do well, get a good game of criket and down to nail biting stuff in the last innings like the last series. Don't care who wins.

I started thinking the same kind of thoughts when I switched the radio off at half-past one this morning, but I’m afraid I can’t convince myself.

Winning the toss was certainly an advantage, but surely not a significant one as things turned out. McGrath exploited the pitch beautifully in England’s first innings, but then the England bowlers couldn’t get one single wicket in 45 overs (the only dismissal in Australia’s second innings was a run-out).

The winning margin at the Gabba is indeed pretty similar to the one at Lord’s last year. But at Lord’s England bowled the Aussies out twice in 140 overs. This time (admittedly in very different conditions) it’s taken them 200 overs to take ten wickets.

England can improve only in the sense that they can’t possibly bowl much worse than they did in Brisbane. But the bowling will have to get a hell of a lot better if we’re to stand much of a chance: the general opinion seems to be that the Adelaide Oval will be a batsmen’s wicket.

So England will be bringing out some real 'batsmen' then, for Adelaide? Where will they find them?

Glenn McGrath didn't practice today ... ooooooohhhhhhhh ... although they are expecting him to play in Adelaide.

Anyone watch the Barmy Army show on fox8? lol lol lol Thought the Aussie was a bleephead but the BA makes me laugh.

Be interesting to watch some of the SA/Ind game tonight, Srini. They were unlucky in that last one that they couldn't get the vital wicket of Kemp, otherwise the lack of batting form may not have been so evident.

India will hopefully make a fight of the match...Dravid's out with a fracture and Sehwag's been in terrible form, so I don't think we have much of a chance if SA sets us anything more than 200-220.

They are 106/4 in 23 overs as I write, with Smith becoming Zaheer Khan's bunny (3 out of 3, the last 2 in the very first over for a duck!)

Vaughan's comeback match seems to have excited the british journalists a lot but unfortunately he fell for a zero Hopefully back by the 3rd Test?
