I've moved into the dusty but surprisingly well maintained town of Woomera South Australia. Population ohh 200 or so.
We got a town pool, cinema and bowling alley but very few people.
No more detention centre either.
Had some F-18 fly over on exercises this morning and disturbed a bunch of Roos in my morning run/jog.
Seems alright out here.

You do come and go don't you?

Is the detention centre still running out there, don't hear much about it any more? Is that included in the population count?

Be pretty dry too, huh?

No the detention centre is all empty. In fact there are some tradesmen disassembling it at the present.
Very dry here. Looking around from the town its just barren hills. The town itself however has plenty of trees and its very clean and spacious. The water here is pumped up from the Murray via Port Augusta which is a bit of a surprise. THought they may have been able to tap the Basin. Still at least you can drink it.
Man do these people drink!
It's 42c here today and a bit of dry wind blowing. I'm off on a bit of a walk beyond the town see if there aint some hidden waterhole or something.

I was in Woomera a couple of years ago. Hot place as I recall, we parked near the park with all the rockets on display and really just about ran to the museum there to escape the heat. Lol, I can`t think of anything else to say about the place.

Isn't there a rocket range? Better keep the head down I reckon.
