Dear Hintmaster,

This is a nice idea for a thread and I am sure Terry will appreciate your sentiment. However, you have to give people time to answer. There is less than an hour between your posts. People do have to go to work, sleep, etc. You shouldn't expect instant responses.

As a volunteer editor, I do thank you for your expression of appreciation.

The moderators and editors try very hard to make this a quality site that can be enjoyed by all the family. I know some people don't appreciate our efforts, particularly when we don't put their quizzes on-line automatically, but we know that the majority of our members enjoy coming here, knowing that it is a safe site for them and their children, with reliable quizzes, and a huge variety of activities they can participate in (quizzes, crosswords, forums, chat, competitions, seeking answers to questions, to name but a few).

Cheers, MotherGoose

It is amazing to me how quickly the moderators jump on posts that are inappropriate or is spam. For example, yesterday I noticed a new name on a new thread in two different forums. When I clicked on the post I noticed that all it was was a person posting a link to his website trying to solicit business. It had been there for less than an hour, had only 4 views, then poof!, it was gone. Just think of all the inappropriate posts that are here and gone while you're logged off and you never saw them. That's what makes this site so wonderful and great (among other things, of course ) Thank you to EVERYBODY at FT for making this the best (and safest) place on the web.

That's right, clarasue. I've always been impressed with how untoward posts dissapear almost right away. Many thanks to those of you who patrol the halls here, especially early in the morning.

You mean you didn't want to purchase cheap shoes and clothing? You don't want to visit games sites which charge to play?

It is the advangtage of having staff from all over the world, there is normally some about regardless of the time of day or night. When it comes to administrators, we have three (if you include the boss man) in the US, one in Australia and moi in Europe.

We try but it takes our wonderful members to really make the site, without them the site would have no purpose.

I almost copied his email address just to write and tell him that if he can't follow simple guidelines and respect this site then I wouldn't trust him OR his business. But then I figured he would win because now I'd have his address. Best to let those losers go by the wayside and just keep ignoring them.

And I agree, Sue, the people on this site are the best on the web, too.

Dear hintmaster,

Please don't delete the content of your posts after people have replied to them. If you do that, the thread doesn't make sense to other members who subsequently view this thread. For example, my previous post does not make sense because you have deleted the comment in your post above it and thus affected the continuity and the context.

It states that VERY clearly in the FAQ.

What if I make a mistake in my post?

Users can edit their own posts up to 98234 hours after they are made. Where the change is substantive, you should mark the post as edited so as to alert viewers to the changed content. For cosmetic changes it's better not to do so.

Please do not delete or substantially alter a post once it has received replies. This makes a nonsense of following posts.

I would also like to say thank you to Terry and all the editors and staff on Funtrivia. I love this site. As a very strict mother this is one of the few sites that I let my children go on. They have learned so much playing quizzes playing quizzes.
So thank you once again and keep up the good work.

I'm with Lynnann, I let my daughter play the children's quizzes. It's great to know she's safe from anything unsavoury and learning at the same time.
For me, well what can I say apart from it's my favourite site and I come here every day. So a big thank you to everyone that makes funtrivia such a pleasure

FunTrivia is my favorite site and is always open on my computer. I signed up in 2002 and the site has come a long way since then. A big thanks to Terry and the editors for all their ideas and hard work and for continuing to maintain the high quality of this site.

FunTrivia is my other home.

The people who built it and keep it alive and well are my heroes. And I also think about them as martyrs and angels.
Except for Terry - he is God.

Bless you all for your hard work, dedication and patience!

Funtrivia is a fun site and the best thing about it is that as it is closely monitored I never feel threatened, which has happened to me on other sites.
Great work to all the moderators and everyone else working in the background to keep it a great place to be.
