Tomorrow is our annual charity auction here in Jersey and I have been looking at the lots on offer. This one appeals to me...

Quote:

As per last year, the Treasurer of the States Treasury and Resources Department would like to offer one lucky person the opportunity to shred a quarter of a million pounds, which they can take home afterwards, if they so wish!
The winner will also receive a paperweight with a £5 note inside as a memento.

I wonder if they might let me skip the shredding stage and just take it home! It would save them the electricity.

More items can be viewed here. Do any of the items appeal to you?

I would gladly give you a helping hand with skipping the shredding.

The Charity Auction is a great event, and there are so many who wish to help. I looked at the list and...dreamed
What would appeal to me? No. 18, 42, 54 and 80.

Wouldn't you enjoy lunch with the Queen's personal representative in the island? The chef will have cooked for Royalty.

4/ Enjoy a ‘money can’t buy’ lunch with His Excellency, Lieutenant Governor Andrew Ridgeway and Mrs Ridgway, in the dining room of Government House for a maximum of four people on a mutually agreed date during 2007

I enjoy the idea of it. But being in any 'high and mighty' dinning room doesn't sound too comfortable to me.

As I like to enjoy my meals, I'd very much prefer to have a snack on the shore, after touring the Corbiere Lighthouse.

I'll tell you what, since I live just down the road from the the lighthouse (five minute drive if I drive slowly) you can pop round here for a lobster and strawberries lunch!

This might work - Click on bottom left in G5 to enlarge image, then look for 'La Moye' and I live in the road which forms a square above the letter 'M' of Moye.

I would bid for the 1 years Valeting. That sounds so good. This old car of mine (love it mind) is really becoming quite a chore to clean. Last time I gave it a wax I was stiff as a plank the next day .

The money raised stays in the Island, it provides food hampers and vouchers for people less fortunate than the majority.

Thanks, Sue!

Can I pop up anytime or do I have to phone in advance?

You seem to live in a very beautiful area and so near to the lighthouse...I'm green with envy.

Wow! Some mighty fine pictures in that tour. Unbelievable how those old equipments are still shiny and intact.

About the bidding - I studied it some more and....how about that Cadbury offer? Do you know anyone who might be interested?

You mean...

41/ one years supply of Cadbury's Dairy Milk Chocolate, that’s 8 cases of 48 bars Cadbury’s Dairy Milk Standard bars! Kindly donated by the Channel Island Wholesale Group.

I can't think of anyone who might want that. Who could eat more than a bar each day of the year?

Sue, is there also an offer of liposuction? I'd have to bid on both.
